Veronica is a sorcerer who draws her innate magical power from the Shadowfell, and she was once married to Alarso Trent a cleric of Ioun. When they met members of Overgrowth, Veronica and Alarso were working as archaeologists in the Screaming Jungle, searching for a legendary grotto that was rumored to allow teleportation into an alternate plane of existence, where they hoped to escape the rift.
Though they never found the teleportation area, they did find a temple that they hoped held the answer. It is here that Veronica lost her husband, and almost her own life. She does not talk about the events that transpired, however she was found by members of overgrowth with multiple puncture wounds to her abdomen.

Her motivation had been to save as many people from the rift as possible. Now that the rift is no longer a danger to her, she is said to be researching ways of contacting the old world to see if anything can be done to bring more people here.

She is particularly fond of books, as expected for one who conducts so much research, however her particular favourite genre of books is surprisingly romance novels.
Those who have got to know Veronica know not to ever mention her ex-husband, or the events that caused their parting, for she is prone to fits of magically augmented rage when filled with all the emotions that this topic brings.
