In the depths beneath Harker’s Keep, within the ancient and hallowed vault known as the Ember Crypts, Colonel Dame Vaeriel Sunwhisper—senior ranking officer of the Order of the Phoenix—performed the long-lost Ritual of the Calling of the Embers. This ritual, steeped in the mythos of the Dovahkiin and once thought extinct after the War of the Ancients, called upon the legacy of dragonkind in a daring act of soul magic and sacrifice.

With the Phoenix Flame burning in the center of the chamber and the runes of Draconic Prophecy awakened, four dormant dragon eggs, preserved since before the fall of the Dovahkiin, hatched. The dragons—each uniquely tied to an ancient element (Fire, Crystal, Storm, and Shadow)—emerged and initiated the sacred Bonding of Souls, instinctively choosing four young Aspirants

These Aspirants, whose identities remain concealed to the public, have since begun their rigorous training in secrecy under the watchful eyes of the Order of the Phoenix. Only a few within the Crimson Dragons and the Knights of the Round Table are aware of their existence.
