Session 69 Zandi's Return Home 24th-26th Ares.

General Summary

Adnum Flintstone of the Flintstone clan and the owner of the Eternal Flame has hired Acquisitions Incorporated to move four carts of Mithril to the legendary Socrates Forest to the city of Rivendell home of House Elrond. The companions of Shining Eclipse has just returned from a Job in the village of Tyrus and took the job after taking a long rest. The companions departed Soteropolis on the 24th of Ares heading north on the Ancient Trade Route to the Gorgopotamos Bridge. From there they traveled along the Socrates road to the city of Mesopotamia. Mesopotamia is one of two large cities that is a major trade hub on the Socrates River. Mesopotamia is located near the mouth of the river where it dumps into the Sea of Azure. The Socrates river is deep enough in this location that Mesopotamia harbor has docks for small merchant ships that go to the Sea of Azure and the river boats that travel up and down the Socrates river. Shining Eclipse arrived in the evening of the 24th grabbed dinner and secured rooms at a couple of different inns in the city. On the 25th of Ares Arceven went to the Mariners guild and requested a river boat to go to take them to Rivendell. The Harbor master a crusty sea veteran by the angry gnome said it would take some time to find a crew willing to travel into the Socrates Forest.   The Socrates Forest is a legendary forest located in the Soteropolis Region. This forest is the home to the Houses of Elrond, Legolas, and Galadriel. The Drowned Forest was once a part of the this legendary forest but for unknown reasons it became tainted and the three houses were able to stop the spread of the corruption. There are many stories, legends, and tales of the this vast forest. Some stories talk of mythical creatures who roam the forest that will protect the forest at all cost. Some Stories tell of legendary Fey creatures who like to play tricks and lure people into the forest never to be seen again. Other stories tell of great wonders and magic that make the Socrates Forest what it is. What is known about the forest for those who want to take the time to read and do research for the truth is that the forest is home to some strong magic. The source of the magic is unknown, but it is respected by all magic users. They research will also show that there is some truth to the three previous mentioned stores mixed in with wise tales. The elves no matter what species they are respect or fear the forest. The Tiefling's are very superstitious of the forest and are the bases of many of the folk lore of the forest. Those who live along the outskirts of the forest will also tell tales that get stretched just a bit from the truth. The three houses that live in the legendary forest were handpicked by King of the wood elves, the Pendragon line of kings, and a unknown third party. Their job are to be the Shepards of the forest to protect it at all cost. The three houses take this job very seriously and will do what it takes to preserve the forest. Those who come into the forest with evil intentions are usually never seen again. Those who survive live in fear for the rest of their lives reliving the nightmares they suffered every night. The common word for those that live near the forest is Respect the forest and it will respect you. Disrespect the forest and you will suffer the consequence.   On the 25th of Ares the companions of Franchise K secured a ride on the River boat Silver Current captained by Kallias "Ironwave" Marinos (Human Male). A grizzled but charismatic captain with salt-and-pepper hair and a commanding presence. Kallias has spent his life on the rivers, earning the nickname "Ironwave" for his skill in weathering even the fiercest currents. The captain has a crew of five to run his boat. The four carts of Mithril was secured on the second deck of the river boat while the companions were given rooms on the first deck of the river boat. 18 other people were also booked on the boat to travel to the city of Babylon three days away. Other merchant goods were also added to the second deck. While waiting for the boat to be loaded Karrin, Jasmal and Marik went to the temples or river asking for safe passage or wisdom on how to travel the river. Jasmal was told not to swim in the river or travel at night. Much like the Sea of Azure it was a dangerous place to travel at night. The river is extremely cold and would cause some serious issues for those who fell in the river. Marik prayed to the pantheon of the river with a medium sized handmade of the river water rising out of the river to collect his tribute of 50 Sheckels. The party left around the 10th hour with their next destination the farming village of Pyrmos. Along the way some crew members witnessed a young woman taking a bath in the river on north banks of the Drowned forest. The young woman asked if her daddy was on the ship. Zandi confused asked who is your daddy. When the creature responded Dagon she went looking for the Dagon who responded that he had only one daughter which Zandi had met. Dagon then proceeded back to his room. The rest of the crew catching wind of this told Zandi that there are 13 hags claiming that Dagon is there father. The young woman walked back into the forest saying that she must tell her mother that Dagon is on the river. The companions arrived to the village of Pyrmos in the evening without no other events. They either spent a night in there cabins or go a room in the inn. The captain said that he was leaving at 8th hour no matter what because he had a schedule to keep.   26th of Ares the crew left at the 8th hour of the day heading for their next destination of the trip the city of Babylon. One merchant and there cargo departed the night before while four more merchants and their cargo were added to the manifest of the ship. This would be an all day trip on the river once again. The following events happened on this leg of the trip. Dagwyn taking a stroll through the ship tripped on the second deck coming in contact with one of the Mithril carts setting of alarms throughout the ship. This brought crewmembers and companions of Franchise K to investigate. Dagwyn apologies for setting of the alarms rubbing her knee as if it were injured in the fall. Once again the companions who were on the second deck witnessed something from both sides of the river. On the south side as the they were entering the beginning of the Socrates forest. Marik had a conversation with several tiny sized creatures who attempted to lure him to swim in the river and meet them on the banks of the river. They wanted to play. Something protected the tiefling from jumping into the river this made the little creatures upset. They could not understand why there magic was not working. Then something chased them away with only Zandi noticing possibly what it was that chased the little fairies away. Unknow to Zandi the patrol did recognize Zandi and would report what they saw. Passengers and some companions thought they saw unicorns in the forest. On the north side of river the companions once again saw a young woman washing her clothes in the river. This woman appeared to be in her early 20's. She began talking to the companions wanting to know where her husband was and told the crew that Karla would be waiting for him. She also was being held back by some unseen magical force so she could not get off the banks of the river. The river boat arrived in the town of Babylon on the evening of the 26th three days travel from the city of Soteropolis.
