Scorpius & Vermini

Near the ruins of various spacecrafts in Death Wreck's River is the wreckage of Scorpius & Vermini. This monolithic structure has served as the basis for the massive space colony Oystercatcher. This megastructure dates back three thousand years, when the two giant spacecrafts crashed into each other after a freak accident when both crafts were hijacked at the exact same time.

History

Three and a half thousand years ago, in the midst of a violent magic hailstorm close to the Oarasal System, two spacecrafts were guided through this horrific phenomenon only seen incredibly scarcely. These two ships were flying from independent planets and had no prior connections, yet it is speculated by each planet that their ship was hijacked by some unknown terrorist organisation. To this day, assumptions are being flown around which still cause controversy.

The ships crashed after both of their flight paths were mysteriously compromised, leaving zero survivors. The ships were scanned and since no signs of life were found and the location of the crash was isolated from any public areas, it was abandoned. It was only until three thousand years ago when adventurers arrived and settled in this crash. It was a perfect place to live - the surrounding debris kept predatory animals at bay, and the size of the crash hid them from any enemies.

Word spread about this adventurer's refuge and the settlement quickly grew. Nicknamed Oystercatcher, after the black, white and orange bird of Earth, this settlement became associated with a tightly knit society of wandering adventurers.

As it expanded, its significance in space society grew. It now stands, or rather floats, as the second largest space colony in the Milky Way.

Oystercatcher

With one of the most developed cultures in the Milky Way, Oystercatcher is a sight to behold. It is one of the most renowned civilisations in space, with highly advanced magic that rival some of the most advanced civilisations in the entire Yonderverse, capable of manifesting items out of nothing and dimensional manipulation.

Oystercatcher is divided into three districts: Air, Sea, and Land. The megacity does not discriminate, providing ample homes for three of the main environments people around the galaxy live in. The Air District is comprised of massive building complexes all strung together using magifibres, unbreakable as they create bridges and connections to each other to stop everything from floating apart.

The Sea District is in one giant bubble, made of indestructable chrome glass. This district is entirely filled with water, and at each entrance face masks are free of purchase to allow water-breathers to enter other districts, and for air-breathers to enter the Sea District. This district is mostly comprised of farmers, harvesting an array of useful resources for city expansion.

The Land District is considered the ruling district, as the very first inhabitants would have inhabited this district. It is home to the Oystercatcher Council, making decisions for the entire city decided through rigorous debates. This District is also enclosed in a bubble, with a gravitational field strength of 10N/kg, an average determined from a thousand randomised planets.

Scorpius

Scorpius was a spacecraft hailing from Uhduan, a planet in the Selvos Cluster. The remarkably advanced people who designed this spacecraft clearly have way too much trust in others, as most of their spacecrafts can be remotely accessed and controlled, even when there is crew on board.

Scorpius was of the now abandoned A99NE spacecrafts, designed to transport cargo across long distances. With twelve large rooms for storage. According to identified documents when the spacecrafts crashed, it had a crew of thirty, ten of which in the control room, ten engineers, and ten researchers to analyse the new planet they were heading to.

Vermini

Vermini was a spacecraft of the Deseri Guardians fleet, from the planet Deseri. This spacecraft fleet is still used to this day, most operating very rarely when the inhabitants of Deseri feel obligated to survey their surroundings for potential threats and enemies.

Vermini was operating under the suspicion of potential spies approaching Deseri. The spacecraft was observing the hundred closest solar systems, Deseri just happening to lie in the Oarasal System near where the crash occurred. Vermini was about a third of the length of Scorpius, and suffered the most damage after the crash. It was split into two; one half lying in the centre of the Sea District and one in the Air District.
