Torch

Grade 1

Effect

A bright flame will burn just above one's index finger, enough to illuminate a small room. Able to last forever, or until the mage stops.

Side-Effects

Users will start to feel dizzy when using this spell for an extended period of time, usually for a few hours.

Execution

In order to execute the spell, one must picture some kind of flames within their imagination, and snap their fingers, and then point their index finger upwards. A small flame will appear just above the index finger. To put out the flame, just close your hand.
The torch spell has been used ever since the fire magic book was discovered. Being one of the first (and only) spells in the book, people used the spell to conquer the night-time, when predators were roaming.

Saffron Suns Of Sabala

Grade 3

Effect

This spell will burn the opponent with a large ball of fire, smelling faintly of saffron and will leave the smell lingering in the air. When stronger mages use this spell there is a chance to create tremors or earthquakes.

Side-Effects

If you fail to execute the spell correctly there will be a bright flash of light and energy will shoot out in sparks, which can cause fires and damage to yourself and property.

Execution

In order to execute this spell, one must be wearing a Light Accessory. To draw power from the accessory, one must grip it tightly. Once enough power has been drawn, one's hand will turn glowing white. Then, draw a circle in the air and punch it, setting it alight with the hand that absorbed the light.

Fires Of Ferathon

Grade 4

Effect

When performing this spell, 5 blasts of fire shoot out in a star shape. Because of the strength of the spell, shooting fire only lasts about 5 seconds before it disappears.

Side-Effects

Those who use the spell will feel their hands are slightly tingly, and have turned a reddish colour. But for opponents, the fire will cause severe third degree burns. Skin will peel, blister, and sometimes fall off on its own.

Execution

In order to execute this spell, one must draw a five pointed star shape in the air with the flame created from a torch spell. Then, grab two points and pull them apart, forming a wand. Point this wand and the star-shaped fire will shoot out of it.
The spell harnesses power from Sabala, a dimension of light and fire. It was discovered when some texts from the fire magic book were translated. It was quickly found out how dangerous the spell was, and when the magic grading system was invented it was immediately classified as a grade 4 spell, not powerful enough to be a grade 5 spell.

Impenetrable Embers

Grade 5

Effect

The user will form a wall of fire with limitless height and width, that is completely impenetrable. The user can then shatter the wall and shoot the shards at whoever.

Side-Effects

The user's fingers will turn an ashy black, able to crumble under pressure. Their hands burn too, their whole body tingling and feeling hot.

Execution

In order to execute the spell, one must rip up the fire from the planet's core. This will create the wall, and when one is ready, punch it to send the ember shards flying. Creating this wall in the first place requires impressive strength, and cannot be done by most.
It's use has been recorded just twice in Greenerth's history. The first time was in 1508, when a young man discovered texts of the spell in a library. After that any books documenting grade 5 spells were banned from libraries. The second time the spell was performed was in 1529, performed by the man's son, after discovering his dads notes on the spell.
