Gigamoths lay 100 to 300 eggs every week. Females will create a big cocoon for the eggs and they will just lay them in there and leave. Males will then possibly find the cocoon, fertilise them and leave. Parents will never have a connection with the children. Baby gigamoths will hatch from the egg within 5 days, and they are able to fly within a few minutes. They are only about 5cm long from wingtip to wingtip.
