Krodin Continent

Disjointed notes about Krodin. There may be repetition or nomenclature issues, but it is still   ✅ confirmed lore actuate   Inhabited mostly by the The Taneeri and the Narinal   One of the continents is Krodin, torn by what seems to be a neverending conflict between the Taneeri Empire, and the Skar Nations. While not always a violent conflict, there is much disdain and disgust directed twords each other. Long ago the Narinal and Taneeri were a single race. They angered the nightmare god, who cursed all Taneeri that were sleeping at the time. These Narinal woke as a completely different species, aesthetically revolting to the Taneeri. Thus began a long history of violence, misunderstanding, and hatred between the two species.   The major organizations in Krodin are The Taneeri Empire, Skar Nations, and Absul Protectorate (nomenclature : protectorate?) . However there are dozens of factions and nations in Krodin. There are only a few worthy of note, however. The Marshak clan is located near the West Point on a sizable island chain. The augor stronghold is located on an Island dead center of the continent. There is a volcano where followers of Burl'Maga enhance their skills with fire.   A major port right in the middle of the borders of Skar and the Empire trades with the entire continent. Krodin is primarily inhabited by Narinal and Taneeri, and this port is the only place in Krodin you can truly expect to find other races, and other races are common. A supposedly politically neutral place, shady deals and contraband are common, as are bribes to the authorities. Those with little to no street smarts are likely to be easily manipulated or deceived.   The Marshak clan is primarily comprised of thieves with a Psuedo-navy. Basically pirates. They do not patrol waters near Krodin, and prefer to hunt down cargo ships far out at sea. This significantly reduces the threat they pose to the denizens of Krodin, and they remain lower on the list of more pertinent problems. There is a popular auction that occurs every week, and patrons from all over Ylly come to purchase high quality black market goods. Flying the Marshak flag is an excellent method of enticing conflict. Many will respond with great hostility to the potential threat of being slaughtered for their cargo, however some will dump cargo as a distraction to escape. You never know until you try!   Krodin has a diverse biosphere, especially compared to the other continents. Nearly every type of biome can be found here.   Wetlands, atoll, sprawling Forest, Ashlands surrounding a volcano, snowy mountain chain. Many different types of island.   Sometime in the past, the continent was struck with enough force to shatter it. For this reason, a sizeable portion of Krodin is covered in water.   Because of the impact force, the seismic stability has been constantly declining, and earthquakes of minor intensity are becoming frequent. This could eventually cascade out of control until the entire continent is underwater. While some people are trying to understand and prevent these instabilities, GragJack is the only entity making actual progress toward halting the geological breakdown, and has even reversed the damage in a few small areas. One of these areas is a part of the East point, raised from the depths, and stabilized to be a large island for GragJack and his denizens to inhabit and use as a staging ground.   The climate covering the majority of this continent is similar to what we would experience during a thin fog. The skies are usually overcast, and the place has lower light levels compared to the rest of Ylly. Weather events are common here, usually some form of precipitation. Wind is usually mild, but there is almost always a breeze. The waters in and around this continent are much colder than other continents.   For some reason Falderdine and Elementals, both weak and strong favor Krodin as a place to set up shop. Some entities have even carved their own realm into the landscape such as GragJack, Albus, and Thasinaz.   GragJack is an Earth Elemental Lord on the higher end of the power spectrum. He carved a small but prosperous nation into a slab of rock that he raised from the sea and shaped into a home. The residents here all have access to earth elementalism, and the nation's specialization is Terraforming. A truly altruistic entity, GragJack has set out on the monumental task of restoring a war-scarred, shattered and half sunk continent. He helped to end the active conflict between the Skar Nations and the Taneeri Empire, as he needed the warfare to stop long enough for him to restore Krodin as a whole.   Thasinaz is a Falderdine of sheer desire. He loved to party so much that he created an entire race to party with him. This race died out long ago, with only a handful of crafty individuals remaining. Ones who have found various ways of resisting the grasp of the underworld. Archmage Kaz, Master Deruko, and Apprentice Tom are examples of remnants of the human species.   Albus is an entity that makes even Primes tremble. A creature of pure will, his being is comprised entirely of his energy domain, and the entirety of his energy domain comprises his being. The combination of will and SoulForce, with a deep knowledge of Ectenics allowed him to generate a new energy class "holy". Able to affect reality on a basic level, those highly trained in the holy arts are a force to be reckoned with, and a small group of inquisitors can mow down an entire army, or raise an army from the dead. Sturdy barriers made of solid holy energy protect the lands and people of Albus, and they tend to keep to themselves.   The residents of Krodin are caught up in various goals and failures to the point where they fail to see the bigger picture. So far only the augors have realized that more is going on than just mortals killing each other. Something is coming, and Krodin will need to unite in order to stand against it. But the idea of bringing the Absul, Skar, and Empire under the same banner is simply unrealistic.   Krodin is one of the four continents within Ylly, with the others being Umix, Lysanthir, and Phanxnoccrim.
