Liquorice Cider
Occasionally served with a baked pear slice on the rim of the beverage. Some establishments may even go so far as to spice the pear with cloves cinnamon and other, similar spices.
Also available distilled into a popular, hard candy, which is too small to have any risk of properly intoxicating effects.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Licorice is a key ingredient in this beverage, and a vital part of the brewing and distilling process.
This causes the drink to come out with an odd, light purple-grey hue.
Some manufacturers and suppliers add pear to their brews, to save business clients the time and effort of adding it to each individual order.
The presence of licorice, bizarrely enough, (- or not -) actually makes the alcohol in this drink more potent than that of regular cider. So customers must consume it in moderation.
