Oleander Patton

The fourth head librarian. A gnome who was also the assistant head librarian to the third. After the death of the third, he was put quickly in charge, as it was during the Arcane Upheaval. He had a paranoid nature to him, that made him a bit jumpy. After spending so many years assisting the head librarian and now ascending to the position, he already had ideas on how to continue and protect the people and land of Fizell. He began to sure up their defenses, by erecting barriers and establishing procedures for entering the land, including teleportation. The public opinion became split as some thought he was being over cautious, while others could see his provisions make sense with so many mages about and seeking to conquer.
He also established the Marble system, a system of glass orbs used by the Bright guard to be sent where they are immediately needed all over Fizell. This helped the guards respond to issues quicker and more immediately throughout Fizell. He helped to solidify Fizell's protection during the remaining Arcane Upheaval and to this day. After the upheaval he took a wife and made a family, the first of any librarian, and lived through peaceful days. His death came about in an interesting manner, as he had decided to pick flowers for his beloved wife, he had unfortunately picked from a plant where after touching it, he began to convulse, vomit, and died from his airway closing. He had selected his successor years beforehand, but is remembered as a true shield for Fizell.
