Fire Olympics Tradition / Ritual in Xenon | World Anvil

Fire Olympics

The building for the annual Olympics is on the border of the two sides of Xenon and right next door to the The Border tower and Fire and Ice museum. The fire athletes compete on the fire side of the building and the ice athletes on the ice side. Audience members sit in the middle. Each side does different sports. The fire side competes in flaming hoop ball, synchronized lava dives, and flaming gymnastics. Flaming hoop ball is like basket ball but, the baskets are on fire. When you take a shot if you're ball touches the flaming part of the hoop you don't get points even if the ball went in. Synchronized lava dives are like regular synchronized diving except the pool you dive into is full of lava which is not dangorus to athletes because lava can't burn a Fire human. Flaming gymnastics is when all of the equipment is on fire like the bars, beams, mats, etc.

History

Kiana and Phoenix built the fire side of the building in the year 25 and from then on there was a Olympics every year except in the years of the war. In the years of 1063-2047 when the sides would not interact they made sure that their date for their Olympics was on a different date then the ice side.

Participants

Most fire and ice humans attend the Olympics every year or watch it on TV from their homes. Key roles are fire hoop ball players, synchronized lava divers, and flaming gymnasts.
