The Infinite Garden

The Infinite Garden, founded by Laertes Venth , is an organization devoted to maintaining a positive balance of force among several realities and timelines. Membership is often presented upon one's person in the form of a silver flower. Often this is denoted in a piece of jewelry, but in some cases can be seen in the form of tattoos.

Typically, when someone acquires the ability to "hop" (meaning the ability to travel in extra-planar and/or chronomantic ways), the Garden will stage an interaction at a hopping individual's target destination in an attempt to guide them through an unknown test of integrity and aptitude before offering them an invitation to join the guild. Occasionally, such as with Gresh Gro-Nell, a high-ranking Garden member can refer a peer with no hopping ability to the Guild and they may be given a formal audition in a location of the Guild's choosing. In the event that a possible initiate fails or declines to join, the testing Garden member will travel to an immediately previous reality and close their original portal before the original version of themself has the opportunity to travel through it. This removes the test from all timelines (as well as the version of the Garden member who conducted the test) and alerts the surviving version of the Garden member that the audition was a failure.

The legitimacy of The Garden's motives were under intense scrutiny during the reign of Theodore Vuln, King Interim, following the death of High King Kor Mun, as he and his followers believed that a singular group of like-minded individuals capable of altering the events of several realities is a degree of god-like power that is incapable of being deserved by mortals. This lead to the Trial of Diamonds in which it was decided by Ether-Judge Vo that the Infinite Garden must retain a position among it's ranks known as The Oracle.
