The Dragon-Sear

The Dragon-Sear was an event in which the Dragons of Xelestar granted a portion of their Magick to the Elvari, permanently changing many of them into Sun Elves/Drakari, and making the gracious Dragons who participated into mortal beings. It is this metamorphosis that give Sun Elves their iconic dark skin, red hair, and amber eyes. Additionally, many of the dragons who were now capable of dying one day, opted to shapeshift into elves themself and become important members of Drakari history (such as Valihran Shireshelli), leading to many to refer to Sun Elves as "Half Dragons" even to this day.
Many Elvari saw the Dragon-Sear as an opportunity to dilute the Fey Ancestry in their veins, further distancing themselves from Oberon and his influence following The Campaign of Roses.
Some actually refer to this event as "The Infernalling" as Elvari who sought to leave as little Fey influence as possible remaining in their genetics would become Tiefling through this magickal evolution. For this reason, some locales more commonly refer to Tieflings as "Dragonborn", as the variation of magickal distritbution offered by the dragons manifests their Draconic heritage much more violently than others in the form of long protruding snouts, slim pupils, and powerful claws.
