At some point between 12,000 and 1000BGE, Naphriel, God of Life, snuck away from the view of The Twelve Pillars of Creation and crafted a species of peoples using his own infinitely generating supply of White Magick. These peoples, who would come to be known as "Humans", were crafted in Naphriel's image and, as such, would contain a great quantity of Nascent Light burning at their very core. However, as the creation of a being capable of utilizing Naphriel's own gifts would be a dangerous and treasonous act in the eyes of The Nascency, he forbid their forms from knowing how to access this power source. To this day, humans still have the greatest quantity of Nascent Light within their bodies (making them the ideal meal for Xelestar's Vampires), though they are explicitly incapable of accessing it unless they devote their lives into being a Cleric or, in very rare instances, a Dark Priest.
