The One True King
There was once a man who commanded an army so vast, the king of the dragons himself was wary of his might. He was a man admired by half-orcs for his strength, by the lizardfolk for his unblemished honor, by the tabaxi for his grace and tact, and by the dragonborn for his thirst for knowledge. This man was Cyrus Hyperius, the first, and last, king of the guildlands.
Five hundred years ago, the guildlands of Cyrania were nothing more than wandering tribes that lived as savages on an unmapped continent, until the rise of the Leonin. The Leonin were a warrior tribe of Tabaxi resembling lions that rose to prominence as monster hunters during the tribal years. After traveling across the continent and saving tribes of all four races, the tribe's chieftan Cyrus, crafted alliances with each of the unique races that inhabited the continent. After a great meeting of the races, retroactively named the first Summit of the Guildlands, Cyrus was unanimously decided to be the first king of the guildlands. For many years he worked to organize the tribes into sovereign regions, providing each race with the lands their tribes originally ventured upon, and establishing trade relations between them.
After reigning for many years, Cyrus, believing that the races of the guildlands could live as one, decided to found the city of Hyperion, a city for the races to coexist that would be a neutral ground, free from the issues the races had with one another. For a time, there was peace.
