Are'dervaal (ah-ray-der-vahl)
The Nexi of Fire
The land of Are'dervaal is the island surrounding the Northern Elemental Nexi, the one that bleeds from the Elemental Plane of Fire. The Vaal people who make Are'dervaal their home are almost as isolated as their Western cousins, very rarely, if ever, leaving the lands of their birth and interfering in Realm politics. Despite the naval culture of Sa'htenbraath, very few have ventured to the Northern isle, the firey disposition and insular nature of Are'dervaal well known in the realm. However, those few who have traveled there tell tales of an incredibly volcanic landscape with temperatures far hotter than the burning sands of Sah'tenbraath. The island is covered in deserts and volcanic mountain ranges with some telling extravagant tales of magma rivers carving through the island itself and running off into the surrounding seas.
Very little overall is known about the Vaal people of the Nexi, their cultural practices, religion and day to day life remains a mystery to most in the 9 Realms due to the insular nature of the Vaal islands- very few tribesmen leave the islands of their home and even fewer still visit or join the mortal realms.
