Synthetic Meat

Synthetic meat is made by artificially recreating the meat of several animals, such as cows, pigs, and chickens, and blending them all together. This is done by taking the chemicals and enzymes that would make up their natural counterparts from other sources, typically inorganic, and chemically reassembling it. Because of synthetic meat’s blend of several different species of animals, its researchers’ decision to maximize the food’s nutritional value, and inorganic and unnatural nature, the taste of synthetic meat is not good and most people would liken its taste to the city’s sewage. Continuous and consistent consumption of synthetic meat has led to many members of X-City, particularly those of A-Town, having their taste buds go blind to the offensive flavor.

Certain producers of synthetic meat have gone out of their way to include more organic sources for this product in order to better the taste, but these variations tend to be more expensive than the sewage flavored synthetic meat sold by X-Corp. These producers have also developed versions of synthetic meat that do not contain beef and/or pork and/or other meats in order to accommodate those whose religions or beliefs do not allow for the consumption of those meats.

Synthetic meat does have some benefits over its organic counterpart. Due to its method of creation, synthetic meat is able to be mass produced at an extremely affordable price and thus allows for most people to be regularly fed. A second benefit of synthetic meat is that it is highly nutritious, despite its taste, because the “meat” was genetically cherry picked and modified to be the best that it could.
