Purists

The Purists are believers in human purity, deeming cybernetics to be an evil creation that should not be implanted upon the flesh. Those who believe in purity do not obtain any cybernetic enhancements, and those who are converted remove and destroy their cybernetics, using old school replacements for anything absolutely necessary such as arms and legs.

Though the Purists are small in number, in recent years they have begun to expand their beliefs into the public eye. Many people view them as crazy or behind the times, so rarely are they treated seriously. While usually for being pacifists, there have been moments of physical aggression by the believers against cybernetically enhanced individuals, more specifically in lower class districts of X-City. Reports of this violence have ranged from simply shoving individuals, to full on assault. No purists in these cases were arrested, having fled the scene before authorities could do anything.

As the Purists are a small organization, there are little rules or standards set in place to structure their community. At most, they have a group of Elders who are generally in charge of group events and community goals. One of these goals involve removing or deactivating the Neurolink chips. Many people were simply given them from birth as it is simply expected to happen at hospitals once a child is born. Due to the intricate ways the chip is connected to the brain, all attempts at doing so have failed, with those who surgically try to remove them causing lethal brain damage, and those trying to simply deactivate them, short circuiting their brain.
