The Glade

The Glade is the home of the Fae. Wrapped in legend, there are many that don't even believe the Glade to exist. However, the Fae are not a disputed part of this. The larger question is the Glade's nature - the home of Irmensul. Irmensul is, itself, a matter of debate, but it's believed that the tree, and, consequently, the Glade, are responsible for the nature of the Fae.   Said to exist in a quasi state between the mortal and spirit worlds, drawn outside of reality by the Pool of Animus, the Glade is said to be nowhere and everywhere, only accessible by the invitation of Titania or Oberon, as they are the only ones that can open the door.   Furthermore, thanks to both Irmensul and its presence outside of the mortal realm, time is supposedly in flux in the Glade. There is no set proportion of a day to a year or minute to a decade; like the Fae themselves, there is an air of chaos to how it interacts with natural laws. That said, it has nothing when compared to psychic dimensions of the Dreamers. Still, some folk who claim to have entered the Glade state that it felt like but a single night, while, in reality, it was years. Others will claim that they lived a whole lifetime, while mere hours passed in the mortal realm.   As a part of its nature as a realm of relative chaos, the Glade is in a constant state of growth and rebirth. Mountains rise and are crushed by great trees. Rain and storm uproot the trees, and rivers shred the earth. Forests drink the rivers. On and on, the cycle goes, ever changing, ever growing. The only place that is shielded from this upheaval is the Royal Court, watched over by Titania and Oberon, and protected by Irmensul itself, rooting the court in more than the physical.

Geography

The Glade is a pocket world unto itself, unbound by the geography of the mortal realm. However, as but a pocket, it is far more constrained spaciously. The entirety of the Glade is a mere one-hundred miles across, and roughly spherical. Within that space, there are mountains, rivers, and forests, but they appear to have gutted from a greater whole, ending sharply at the limits of the world. Beyond that, there is the matter of its ever-shifting nature. Roughly a temperate or boreal forest, the Glade doesn't stay the same for long.

Ecosystem

The ecosystem is very temperamental, but tends to more-or-less obey an accelerated version of natural events. Wind and water erosion, the felling of trees by storms, all are commonplace in the mortal world, but they happen much faster in the Glade. Mere months can see a mountain turned to a hill and then a rumbling earthquake casts it skyward again, reforming it into a mountain. Rivers can cut canyons in hours and then be closed by the same earthquakes that make the mountains.   However, this does not apply to the Royal Court. This ten-mile circle is in a state of constant peace. They are untouched by the storms and earthquakes that flatten mountains and build them back up. Instead, it is an eternal spring day.
