Tat'ra: South Tuhra Plains
Geography
Southern Tuhra is bordered by mountains to the east, farmlands to the north, and the sea to the west. Internally, there are sparingly few elements of note. The plain is flat, and one can see for many waysaway simply by standing tall, many more by striding a horse. The only thing that interrupts the endless grassland are small, sparse, shallow pools that are generated from groundwater.
Ecosystem
Southern Tuhra is littered with brown grasses, which are only of nutritional value to base or domesticated herbivores. Any sapience in Tat'ra can only be sustained by the food it drags along. Clouds don't frequent the area, and rivers don't venture far enough to support larger plant life. Groundwater provides but only to a point. The still water of the pools is rarely safe enough for drinking; manmade wells have provided water for centuries, for sapient and bestial life alike.
History
The first people in recorded history to set foot on Tuhra were nomadic tribes from southern Yukur. For most ancient civilizations, Tat'ra was an impossible place to start a colony. Even so, the sparse grasslands were a significant improvement to the desert wastelands of Yukur and perfect for the horses and cattle brought by the Tuhran tribespeople. Ranchers scattered across the plains, constructing wells in each new grazing ground.
Strategically, Tat'ra had no value. Even though Wouraiya's largest non-coastal city stood at its borders, armies rarely ventured that far inland, and armies took heavy amounts of attrition wandering through its wastes. Even so, journeying into the wilderness was a perfectly valid way to maneuver around an enemy, and the Keyrit and Wlitowan forces marched through Tat'ra during several campaigns. The inhabitants of Tat'ra were too few in number to form a political faction within Tuhra.
