Session 1 - prologue Report

General Summary

On the way back from boxing day celebrations with friends in the city, Tylor's car broke down, so he decided to walk home. he saw a light in the forest and decided to check it out as only he can prevent forest fires. Approaching the light however he was in for a bit of a shock. Standing next to a roaring campfire, surounded by piles of stones and books was a hooded figure, chanting from a book.   Tylor thought it prudent to approach the mysterious figure in the woods, the figure turned to him but he couldn't see any features within the cowl. Meanwhile a twisted figure begins to pull itself from the ground on the other side of the fire. The figure tells Tylor that he had picked the wrong place to be. As the creature pulled itself from the earth, it long spindly arms, and a stumpy body.   Tylor now thought it prudent to book it, and off he went to the sounds of crashing noises behind him as if being chased. Suddenly from out behind a tree steps another hooded figure, this one tall and broad, that Tylor promptly runs straight into. The person pulls back their hood to reveal a a rather striking woman with a silver mohawk. She also tells Tylor that he picked a time to be walking in the woods, before booping him gently on the forehead. Tylor then wakes up fully clothed the following morning in his own bed, with no memory of precisely how he got there.   Unsure as to whether he had dreamed the whole thing, he took his horse out for a hack to the woods. he managed to find the place where he had been the night before, sure enough there was the remains of a large campfire, with rocks scattered about. There was no sign of the figure nor the creature though the earth where tylor thought i had come out of looked slightly disturbed.   Heading back home he decided to do some research in the family library, to see if he could find any reference to the strange creature he had seen. the closest he came was reference to a boggart, though it wasn't as tree like as Tylor thought the creature had looked. he then headed to the city library to see if there were any references to pagan or satanic occurrences in the woods, kids being daft, local witch covens having an event. He didn't find much though. Then he began to look into disappearnces in the region, to his shock he discovered that there had been several cases of children going missing, and always on the the seventh of the month. Found references to an author who had written several theories as to these disappearances and copied the article he had written.
