Kuźnica Słupska (kuz-nitsa swup-ska)
A small farming village about 10km southeast of Kępno. Pomianka Creek, a placid stream that averages about 2 meters wide and 0.5-1 meter deep, but that carries water year round, marks the western and southern edges of the village. It's laid out in a rough L-shape along the road that leads northwest to Kępno. The pre-war population of 190 has dwindled to 40 after 4 years of war and the remaining villagers have relocated to the homes along the short leg of the L, closest to the creek and the best fields. There are more than 20 abandoned houses in the central and eastern portions of the village and 3 small, empty, 2-story commercial buildings that make up the village center.
They do some very minimal trading with other, similarly small villages in the area, but mostly have to be self-sufficient.

Defences
Sandbagged watch posts have been built atop 2 barns at either end of the still-occupied part of the village. The height, in daylight at least, gives them a minimum 1 hour warning of anyone approaching on foot and 10-15 minutes for all but the fastest vehicles. Both posts are manned around the clock.
Everyone between 13 and 65 has been taught to shoot, although the village's small number of hunting rifles and shotguns remain with the best and most experienced hunters and shooters. In addition to the civilian firearms, the villagers have 2 AKMs with about 150 rounds of ammo for them.

Geography
Gently rolling farmland with a modest line of trees along the creek. Small forests 0.75km to the west and 1km to the south are a reliable source of firewood and building materials for the village and a place to hide if a large band of soldiers or marauders appears.
