The Garden Valley River Basin

This valley is dotted with ruins, once home to many dragons. The Border Princes have always referred to dragons as the Ancient Ones and this valley is reputed to be the capital of the dragons when they dominated the world in eons past. There are over 1200 major sites and 900 weirs carved in the walls of rocky outcropping, they are all are in ruins. Regardless of their ruined state, many are the home to ancient dragons. The majority of the ruins and cairns are in the north end of the valley, running east to west, encompassing The Spillway. Legend states that once The First Men came south after Tita cursed them to dwindle overtime, the dragons were the one who told the men to hide themselves. There are huge skeletons here from long dead burned out dragons and their homes.
These days, the dragons are long gone and only but a few remain. This naturally attracts would be "dragonslayers" and mercenarires hoping to fell a great winged wyrm from the skies above The Garden Expanse. These practices have been decreed illegal by the Archduchy of Whitesword, anyone caught hunting dragons without the permission of the Arch-duchy can be jailed for 20 years with no chance of parole. The Border Princes on the other hand, will mercilessly kill those attempting to hunt dragons in the river basin, as they hold a deep respect for the creatures and their power.
