Navi Ren
Navi Ren, the first city of the world and of the High Elves. Beyond the inner walls, lampposts lit with incandescent magic keep the night at bay. Long streets wind up tree-clad hills. Many flights of stairs run up the steeper slopes. There are palaces with towers and spiked minarets. Palm trees, roof gardens. Seemingly endless streets full of echoing, half-empty palaces, and there are fountains everywhere. All seems like a legion of sculptors had been kept busy for many ages of the world beautifying the city with statues of mages and warriors and kings, as well as lawmakers, orators and poets. The stone is worked to look life-like, auras of glamour and ancient warding sorceries protecting the work from the ravages of time and weather.
Approaching Navi Ren, the first thing a mariner sees is the Gilded Tower, a great lighthouse filled with thousands of lamps, situated on a rocky isle in the mouth of the treacherous Emerald Straits. This titanic fortress guards the approach to the Emerald Gate, the first of Navi Rens three sea gates. Anyone approaching the Emerald Gate can easily be caught in a crossfire between the massive war engines in the Gilded Tower and those on the Gate itself. The sight of these imposing bastions is enough to turn all but the most insane attackers away.
The cities purpose is to be the first line of defense for Green Bay, which in tern keeps Hollymount safe from attack.
Navi Ren is an independant city that is allied deeply with Freebridge and Hollymount. They maintain a very neutral stance unless an enemy were to approach the Emerald Gate, in which case the Elves will not shy away from a fight. The have been in heated debates with their brothers and sisters in Loswar, who wish for them to abandon the city and move to the island nation. The Elves in Navi Ren refuse to bow to a foreign empire and cherish their neutrality and freedom within Tel Morath.
Defences
Emerald Gate, fortresses, the Gilded Tower. Navi Ren and Green Bay are considered to be the most impregnable fortress combination on Mythris, and would be suicidal for any army to assault. Although in more recent years Draugen has become the center of a debate surrounding which city is more defensible.
History
Navi Ren is the first of the great High Elven cities ever constructed, and considered the first of any civilized land in the world. It has withstood the test of time over and over again. From wars on cataclysmic scale, to corrupted turn overs of power. It is unknown when the first stones of Navi Ren were built, but it is assumed that it was constructed after the First War of the Verum, and before the Second. The final battle of the Second War of the Verum took place at Navi Ren, where it was sieged by the Krull for ten years. The Emerald Gate was destroyed during the tenth year of the war and the war spilled into Green Bay.
