Divine Purism and Lore of the Heavens

Divine Purism: followers of this belief worship a single god known as the Lord of Heaven, or just God, and acknowledge only the divine figures within the Holy Church Pantheon. Those faithful to this religion believe that in devoting ones faith to the word of their divine lord, they may find everlasting peace in the Heavens, lest they succumb to sin and be damned to the seven Hells in the after life.     The Heavens: A place of legend, the Heavens are said to be a great kingdom ruled over by a true and all mighty lord, of whom’s angelic legions protect and lead the pure of heart to its holy gates. The angels have spoken very highly of the divine realm, assuring those curious enough to question them of its great majesty and beauty, but no one who has set foot there has ever returned to legitimize the angels claims, other than of course the angels themselves. No one truly knows what the heavens look like, only that it is supposedly the most peaceful place in existence, and is accessible to those pure of sin in the afterlife. The god that rules over it is also a mystery, as no one but the angels have spoken to them. They are known as the Lord of the Heavens, or God, but no one knows what they look like. The god’s divine will however, has remained a constant push for good in opposition to evil, and the angels that serve the lord do so in a manner unmatched by any other. He commands five arch angels who rule over the five subbranches of heaven’s legions.     Five Arch Angels:   Angel of Protection: He is the defense against the dark, the warden of the great guardian angels, the shield of the faithful. He commands his legions to protect that which the lord of the heavens wills to be safe, be it place, object, or individual, and does so with unwavering conviction and prowess.   Angel of Purity: He who would strike down evil and purge sin. The demon’s bane, the destroyer of sin. He commands his legions to smite that which stands against his lord in the mortal realm, lest their horrid evil fester and spread.   Angel of Heroism: The savior of the innocent, the one to stand between mortal and demon. He leads his legions to fight off demonic or cataclysmic threats to the world, and save the defenseless in times of great need.   Angel of Justice: He is the wrath of the heavens, the avenger of the fallen innocent, the retaliation against evil. His judgment is final and swift, and he leads his legions to redeem the faithful, and destroy that which has done irredeemable sin.   Angel of Hope: The new dawn, the kind. The one to spread faith and good will from the lord, and the one to aid the defeated, and offer redemption to those in need. She leads her legion to aid the other arch angels on their efforts, and offer comfort and protection to those mortals in distress.       Angels:   The angelic legions rarely make appearances, but when they do, it is often to combat a great cosmic evil, or protect a very important individual or place in the eyes of God. The angels are said to only carry out the lords will, having no real aspirations of their own, and are said to be equipped with divine might and power to accomplish this feat. All angels are feared by demons, and they are often depicted as a few winged soldiers to stand victorious over a horde of countless demons. One may find an angel to stand guard over a holy place or person, and one may find an angel to arrive unexpectedly to thwart a great evil.   The angels are all perfectly beautiful, with healthy and youthful humanoid appearances coupled with large and vibrant white feathers wings to protrude from their backs. They often wear angelic forged armor, of which is composed of a flawless pale silver plate that is known to shine as if the sun itself. Angels are believed to have an entire civilization of varied professions within the heavens, but most angels that mortals meet are members of the heaven’s legions.       Power from Faith:   Paladins and clerics who worship the lord of the heavens have been known to derive divine gifts and even magical power attributable to their god, but in reality such boons are gifted to them by powerful angels. Some of these angels may be guardian angels who are personalized to protect certain individuals, angels who have taken certain interests in a mortal, and sometimes it is simply the will of one of the seven arch angels for a mortal to possess such power. Divine power can also be granted to certain holy items, and all things blessed by an angel offer some level of divine power.
