Compressed Tea

A hardier and more transportable version of loose leaf tea, a compressed tea brick can sometimes be formed to have pleasing images or patterns on its surface. They are considered a high end luxury item and are used to show off one's wealth by decoration as well as to provide a delicious beverage. While lasting far longer than loose leaf tea, up to several decades if stored properly, it does have the downside of being more difficult to prepare.
In order to prepare a brick of compressed tea for consumption, one must first break off small pieces from the main brick. Once that is done, the leaves must then be prepared either by grinding them down into a fine powder or by pre-soaking them in boiling water to awaken them. Only after one of these two steps is completed can the tea then be prepared to the consumer's preference.
One brick of tea can be used to make approximately 200 cups of tea to be enjoyed.

Rarity

As the tea plant can only be grown on a select few islands off the southern coast of Cynia, this commodity can be rather hard to come by. It is still easier to find than loose leaf tea, however, due to the greater ease of transportation and storage that it affords.
