Rosa Hernandez

"Shit is fucked up. When the chips came up against us I got thrown in the front lines. Little did I know that the battles I would be thrown in wouldn't be on blood soaked battlefields - but within the walls of elysia. It can make a girl want to vomit."
— Rosa

Rosa always hated the game, she could never stomach it. The politics of the Camarilla was not something that she had aspired for, but rather a series of ever escalating messes that has led to her current 'standing'.

Her beginnings would be humble enough. She would be seduced by a monster in wolf's clothing into becoming kindred. While at first she had felt at peace, she would soon learn what being one with the beast meant for her sire. They would gleefully attack innocents in violent brutality. While Rosa hated the hunt, she learnt that to survive with a monster - she too needed to become a monster. But she would focus her hunts on those she viewed deserving. Those that pillaged and profited from the taint put into the planet - the corporate overlords and their lofty high-rises.

Her discovery of the Lupine would begin with fascination, the whispers she had heard of their culture and motives resonated with her corporate distaste. This fascination would give way to abject terror during the War of Chicago. While surviving, she would be incensed when Gangrel Primogen Inyaga brokered a treaty with the Lupine. While her fire was quickly snuffed by the elder, her passion was noted.

As the Gangrel began to drift away from the Ivory Tower within and out of Chicago, Inyaga would be one of the countless elders called away from the domain. The seat of Gangrel Primogen open, Rosa took the position more out of obligation than any actual interest in the games of the tower. While she sympathises with the Anarch movement, Rosa finds their altruism short sighted and naive. Plus, being on the seat of the Camarilla would mean that she could re-look at the Lupine agreement - when things were calm enough of course. As Rosa would quickly learn, this would be easier said than done.

Rosa would find few friends within the Ivory Tower and would often be treated as an after thought. The only one of the Primogen she would truly respect would be Critias. Still, she had little influence.

While hopped up on narcotic laced blood, Rosa would try to coral fellow Gangrel Ted into going Lupine hunting. The member of the Undecided Coterie would expertly talk the Gangrel primogen down from this rash action. During the Sacrifice, Rosa would vote in favour of Sierra and the Lasombra deal.

When the Toreador Elyse had been captured by the Camarilla following the explosion at Chicago University, Rosa would house the wayward neonate. She would take Elyse to meet with Prince Kevin Jackson where she was told to meet with the rest of the crew of 'anarchs' tasked with investigating the explosion. This coterie would eventually be the Asylum coterie.

During the time between the reunion of the Asylum coterie, Rosa would work closely with Ace. The two would form a sibling like relationship, with Rosa mentoring Ace.

After the fracturing, Rosa would visit Elyse on a few occasions within the Asylum, showing a kinship to the Toreador. During this, she would have a confrontation with Jack - she would distrust this drifter and his intentions towards Elyse. During the night of the Asylum Elysium, Rosa would be thrust into a unexpected position of leadership. The power players behind closed doors decided that with the re-emergence of the Sabbat, they would need someone to lead - a general. They would name Rosa the General of Chicago's Camarilla, tasked with bringing down the Seven Flames of the Sabbat.

While Rosa would gain much influence, she would loose her closest ally. Critias would frenzy during the Elysium when member of the Seven Flames, Mateo Garcia, murdered Critias' lover in the Asylum bathroom. Rosa would temper the ancient with the use of her Animalism, tempering the beast within her friend. Critias would soon after leave the Ivory Tower and defect to the Anarchs.

Rosa would chaperone the Asylum Coterie on their first investigations into the Seven Flames. Together they would uncover that Mateo Garcia's sire, Kyra Ripa, had been conducting annual parties called Black Rose events. Kyra recently met the final death when Bliss went up in flames, which would turn out to have been done by Garcia. The Black Roses would press on and continue with their annual event from a new location. This would be discovered by Rosa and the coterie when they looked found Mateo's girlfriend dead in her apartment with her tongue cut out. The mysterious Agent Deckard would show up and speak with Rosa, making it clear how aware of the Kindred world he was.

The wolves would also warn Rosa of a tainted smell of some mortals. This would turn out to be the parasites that member of the seven flames, Mack, had crafted to infect and control the Chicago population.

Going to the Black Roses venue, Rosa would see open depravity and violations of the masquerade in front of mortals. The proprietor would say that this was a celebration of the beast and that for one night they can let loose with no stigma or repercussions. Rosa would order the party be shut down, but was clearly not respected. The venue would turn out to be a trap from many sides. Mateo Garcia had organised the venue and had placed a number of flesh monsters underneath the venue to spread Mack's parasite. The Second Inquisition would also attack and all out chaos would ensue.

The Coterie would Rosa would escape this madness. Rosa would leave the Asylum coterie to continue their investigations while she had assumed the wider role of general. Later in the night, Rosa would visit the chantry to speak with Abraham DuSable. During the conversation, it became clear that Rosa was there by Portia's command. Portia would lead Rosa to a secret room in the chantry where the missing Regent of the Chicago Tremere, Erictho, in torpor. Portia would tell Rosa to drink as she need a strong general. Rosa would obey.
