Olaf, The One-Eyed King
“Truly, the light of my past, burning bright in my mind, is as deadly to mine flesh as is the sun. A tale that, for its majesty, naught but I can tell thee.”
A simple beggar on the streets, Olaf would often be seen within the Loop of Downtown Chicago. Heavily buried under cloth, with a cup before him - waiting for the generosity of strangers. If one was generous enough to pay the beggar king coin, would find their generosity thanked by being Olaf's next meal. Olaf would often been seen stalking elysia within the shadows, in particular looking over at the Toreador Primogen, Annabelle. Those that would humour the sad kindred would hear her be referred to as his Catherine - before he would grumble about great loss.
This sad existence would turn after a fire within the suburbs of West Chicago. Olaf was seen within the scene standing over a dead law student. Reports vary, but the scene was unmistakable - a massacre had taken place outside the burning house. LK gang members would be found in pieces over the lawn, torn apart in a bloody fury. The law student meanwhile, untouched - aside from their fatal wound.
Olaf would begin to make moves, he would employ mortal Lieutenants, blood bonding them and remoulding them as his 'childer' "Big Stacks", "Fat Man", "Dolla", "Scarface" "T-Bone" and "Mr. J". He would re-establish himself as the one-eyed King of the Streets - building his underground empire.
During investigations into who blew up Chicago University, the early version of the Asylum Coterie would come across members of the One-Eyed King. They would capture lieutenant T-Bone, torturing him to reveal what little he knew of the truth of the explosion. T-Bone would die in this exchange and would be later resurrected by the Family as a servant for Hecata member of the coterie, Elena LeClerc in her new role within the Family.
When Gengis disappeared, LK was left without leadership. The One-Eyed King would push in and aggressively take over LK, re-branding their joint operations as 1LK.
During an exchange with the Second Inquisition outside the Asylum, Ace would lose his CIA badge. Tracking the badge GPS led to Lupine territory, but soon it moved and was traced to a warehouse within Riverdale. It would be here that Ace would learn that this was the headquarters of the One-Eyed King and 1LK. Not only that, but ex-sheriff Balthazar was now in league with 1LK. It would turn out that his CIA badge had been stolen at the scene, the thieves would attempt to 'bust' known drug and criminal operations with the badge pretending to be CIA. This grift would work for awhile until they would come across the King of the streets. Ace would get his badge back and the one-eyed King would extend an offering to Ace.
Eventually, Olaf would offer Ace a spot in his empire as Primogen, with the cost of drinking his blood. While hesitant, Ace didn't see much option and drunk from the gnarled king. With a mixture of things spiralling out of control and Ace not wanting to submit to the blood bond, he would not return to drink further from the One-Eyed King. Insulted by this, Olaf would dispatch Balthazar and his Lieutenants to confront Ace. The visit would turn both disastrous and in their favour. While Ace had gunned down lieutenant Mr. J - the Hound Wauneka had been set ablaze and Oblivion would consume Ace. While the loss of Mr. J was an annoyance, he wasn't the first, nor would he be the last.
Luck would not be on Olaf's side as Ace would emerge from whatever purgatory he found himself in. While he had moved on, Olaf never forgot.
When The Young Undead coterie investigations into the disappearance of Sarah Peterson would lead them to 1LK, Ace and Silvana would go to the 1LK warehouse to seek the King out. They would find the old HQ abandoned with Lieutenant Scarface dead. They had been seen by an invisible witness and subsequently blamed for the death of the Lieutenant. The investigation into 1LK would lead them to one of their rackets, Top Rung Motel. Here, Trinity would dominate Mr. J's replacement and kidnap him. He would tell the coterie that the shooting at Lil Gonzie's house where Sarah disappeared was done by shorty of 1LK, a twelve year old called Screech. The boy had been dominated by someone into thinking that the King of the streets had ordered a drill on Lil' Gonzie.
Ace would secure a meeting with Olaf at his new HQ. The King would make it clear he was still displeased over the disrespect from Ace. He would tell Ace that their enemy was Sweetie Pepper, but to trust him - he ordered that the Young Undead accompany 1LK and the C Gang on a smuggling run across town. While this job would be messy, to Olaf it was successful.
Trinity would volunteer to go to the King to get the information to take down Sweetie Pepper. He would tell her that he has ties with a Police Officer in Chicago PD, Loretta James. Trinity would placate the King and play up to his ego. He would offer Trinity the same offer he did to Ace. Trinity would artfully convince Olaf to give her 'time to think'. While she has placated the King for now, he still expects an answer, lest she anger the One-Eyed King.
