Damien
Ever since that night, I sometimes dream. I dream of an age of harmony and peace. I see man and beast walk side by side. I dream of the third city. Then I see Chicago. The fourth city. With me standing in flame and smoke. The Starchild.
Embraced at a young age in the 60's, Damien had no clue of his lineage - he needed to work things out on his own. While moving around Chicago as an unclaimed childe, a Caitiff, Damien would make friends and alliances with the Anarch movement that helped protect him against the blood-thirsty Sheriff, Balthazar and his forces. Damien would strike out at Camarilla holdings to help maintain his lifestyle. This destructive lifestyle would have led to a swift end to Damien had it not been for the intervention of Malkavian elder, Johann Keller, who took Damien under his wing.
Damien would end up with close friendships with various Anarchs, in particular Gengis. The two were notorious for their excursions into Gary, Indiana to mess with Prince Modius and his local government. Damien's true passion however would lie with music. He would form the band Baby Chorus and begin performing around Chicago.
One fateful night, while performing at the Succubus Club the Lupine would strike and decimate the Kindred population of Chicago - namely many members of Baby Chorus who were performing that night. This would result in dormant power within Damien's vitae to come to fore. He would emerge in fire and frenzy as a member of clan Brujah.
It was shortly after this that Damien's sire revealed himself, the Brujah Primogen ancient Critias. While the two would have a tense relationship, Damien ultimately would hold a great deal of respect for Critias. Still, he continued running within Anarch circles - without a purpose after Baby Chorus dissolved.
In the 2000's Damien would re-form Baby Chorus once more and begin to focus on making music. It was during this time that something completely unexpected happened. When Prince Kevin Jackson was instated in Chicago, he called Damien for a meeting. Damien had thought that the new Prince was going to throw his weight around and would try to put the Anarchist musician in his place, instead Prince Jackson would offer Damien the position of Sheriff. Damien was understandably baffled by this offer. He would decline, but before leaving he would ask Jackson why he offered him the position. Jackson would simply respond, “Damien. To protect the city, I need someone who is not beholden to any of the old guard. Someone who will follow his Prince’s orders, who can endure hardships and be my right hand. I could command you to do this, but would rather you choose it. The position shall remain open with the Hounds enforcing the law until a Sheriff is found.”
Eventually, Damien would take on the position in exchange for Jackson helping to financially back Baby Chorus - though Damien would not admit it, Jackson had also convinced him of his vision for the city. His friends within the Anarch movement would be bitter over this betrayal. In particular, Gengis would deride Damien whenever he could.
Damien would serve as Sheriff, keeping the peace within the city. His role of Sheriff would have him working closely with The Undecided Coterie. In particular, he would form a kinship with Betty as he would be secretly grooming her to take position of Hound. He would suggest the Undecided Coterie to Prince Jackson to assist with the Lasombra delegates after their return and performance investigating into the wight, Patrick Addison. Damien would meet with the Undecided Coterie with Prince Jackson to send them on a secret job outside of Chicago. The Coterie has not been seen since.
Ultimately, Damien would meet his end at the night of the explosion at Chicago University. He was within the Eternal Academy underneath the philosophy wing when it was blown up by Sweetie Pepper and Gengis. Though Gengis would claim that he had been an unknowing participant in this plot.
Ironically, the night of Damien's death, his sire Critias would sire another childe also at the University - the junior CIA analyst, Alec 'Ace' Martinez.
