Balthazar
Been a long time since I been able to stomp some skulls...
The big, bad sheriff of Chicago, or at least he once was. During Prince Lodin's rule, the ruthless Brujah relished his position as judge, jury and executioner of Chicago's kindred. He would be the fear of many within Chicago, none would want to raise the ire of Chicago Camarilla's ruthless enforcer.
As Lodin became more paranoid, Balthazar would find himself with more power and control within the city as he stayed by Lodin's side. This new power would be fleeting as Lodin would fall during the War of Chicago. Balthazar would keep his position of Sheriff until the appointment of Prince Jackson. Balthazar would be seen as a symbol of the old, tyrannical guard and ousted from the position - with Damien taking his place.
Scorned and all connections burnt up, Balthazar would set his sights on Gary, Indiana. This excursion would land him in a number of confrontations with the Undecided Coterie. For a short time, Balthazar would take on the title of "sheriff" of Gary.
After the explosion at Chicago University, Balthazar would confront the Asylum coterie in their first nights. He would threaten them and leave a parting gift of a mob of mortals pushed to a rage against the coterie with his vampiric disciplines. Balthazar would soon align himself with Olaf, the one-eyed King. After Jackson disappeared, Olaf would name himself king of the streets and Balthazar would reclaim the title as his "sheriff".
After Ace disrespected Olaf by refusing to bond with him, Balthazar was sent with 1LK goons to confront Ace at his warehouse. During this confrontation, Wauneka would emerge and be set ablaze by the Nosferatu in hiding, Nathaniel Bourdriff. Wauneka would jump into the lake, Ace and Lou would be swept up by a storm of Oblivion and Balthazar would escape.
Many months later, Ace would meet with Olaf once more to request assistance with the investigation into Sarah Peterson's disappearance and the shooting at Lil' Gonzie. When Olaf's powers of domination did not subdue Ace, Balthazar would arrive and hold the neonate down. Olaf would task Ace with accompanying a convoy across the city with black-market goods. They were to protect the convoy.
During the delivery, Ace would receive call that his pops had been rushed to Hospital. He would leave his coterie behind. The forces of Vexed Vitae would arrive, with this youths under Sweetie Pepper's thrall attacking both the coterie and the shipment. Balthazar would arrive on the scene and begin tearing these youths apart with his bare hands. With the massacre of innocent youths, the remaining members of the Young Undead would step forward to intervene. River would throw a flash-bang and Silvana would try to intimate the Brujah. The youths would escape and Balthazar would be carolled back to assist the remains of 1LK and C gang members. Though he would take note of the Young Undead coterie that stood up to him.
In the aftermath of the ambush, Silvana would attempt to convince Balthazar to help bringing Ace's car back in operation. While the two had a tense exchange, Balthzar eventually would tell Silvana that the car was no longer operational. As the sirens were heard in the distance, Balthazar confronted the coterie of how to deal with the mess. While initially offering to 'deal' with the situation, River took control and began trying to burn the bodies. Amused, Balthazar would assist River by flipping Ace's car over the mutilated remains of the youths he had murdered in cold blood. Tensions were high and the glimpse of the monster that is Balthazar bought the coterie a glimpse what happens when you slide too far.
When Trinity would visit Olaf, she would throw a verbal jab at Balthazar, amusing Olaf. Balthazar would threaten Trinity and ask her to apologise. The Malkavian stood her ground against the monster before her. He would allow her to leave, but a clear animosity was built between the two.
When River would speak with Alexa, she would bring to her attention of the mess that Balthazar had created and how he is parading as Sheriff of West Chicago. Alexa said they would look into it, but would imply to River to be ready to take down Balthazar if it comes to it.
