Arden Canty
“We are the hope, the truth, and the night.”
An ardent follower and worshipper of Caine, Arden Canty is a former member of the Sword of Caine that has claimed to have reformed and now only wishes to share the exhalations of the Dark Father. Canty normally spends most nights in the Holy Family Church Rectory within Chicago. He often talks with Kindred interest in Noddist beliefs and the message of the Dark Father, Caine.
Arden Canty would come across the Undecided Coterie within the Holy Family Rectory Church. The coterie would attend a sermon to Caine with other Kindred in attendance. This would be raided by the Second Inquisition, forcing Canty into hiding for a short amount of time.
Eventually, the heat would die down as more pressing things would come across Chicago PD's radar. Canty would resume his role as a priest within the congregation, while also providing spiritual guidance using the teachings of Caine to guide their path.
His past as a crusader of the Sabbat would rear it's head when Samson would re-emerge within Chicago. Canty would tell Elyse and Jack of his history with Samson as a member of his pack. While it was true that Canty was pack priest for Samson, it would turn out his involvement with Samson ran deeper than spiritual fulfilment. Canty would admit that Samson had been flagged by him since he was young due to his sadistic nature. He would push things in Samson's mortal upbringing to cultivate him as the perfect follower of Caine and in turn warrior for the Sabbat. Canty supposedly holds deep guilt and regret for not only this, but all his actions while under the Sword of Caine.
Canty would go on to tell Jack and Elyse that he believes he may have been visited by Samson since he returned. He met an odd individual via confessional who bore many similarities to Samson. Canty would provide the coterie with further leads on their investigation of Samson.
During the explosion at the Elevated L Track, Canty had been seen crucified on a rooftop in the distance - forced to bear witness to the destruction Samson was about to reign on Chicago. Jack and Elyse rescued Canty, who's eyelids had been removed. Canty was handed off to Maxwell to recover.
