The Reformed Yeenoghu Followers

The Reformed Yeenoghu Followers are comprised of peaceful gnolls who have rejected the self-destructive prophecy of their former god Yeenoghu.
It is a religion devoted to serving the poor and atoning for the previous transgressions of the gnoll people.

The religion was formed almost 1000 years ago, after the events on The Isle of Bliss and Genocide. There, a cosmic bargain was struck between the "god of life" and "the god of death," which promised the destruction of the gnoll race due to their ruinous ways.
As part of the cosmic due process, the gnolls were allowed to avoid immediate destruction by forming a peace with human civilization. They vowed to fulfill the prophecy of their own genocide by voluntarily lowering their numbers over time.
