Unlike typical zombies, these were extremely physically hardened, and resistant to damage. In addition, they seemed to absorb magic when it was cast near them, and they were attracted to it from medium distances.

The outbreak ended when a party of four adventurers (Corbin Diabeticus, Bruv, Soup and Traveler) brought the Eclipsed Dawn artifact to the Altar of Luminous Reckoning at Lumina’s Peak.
This destroyed all undead in the realm.
