Baku

The Baku is a demon from Japanese mythology. During daylight and other periods when humans are awake and active, the Baku is dormant. It becomes significantly more active when humans are asleep. The Baku is not found in the more isolated regions of the Mistlands away from human activity, as it requires human brain activity for its survival.

Anatomy

The Baku, in its true form, is a chimeric creature with the head of an elephant, the body of a tiger and the tail of an ox. The Baku is a shapeshifter and is able to take on the form of the viewer's worst fears and nightmares.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Nightmares - Primary diet Will also devour dreams, hopes and desires when particularly hungry.

Capable of detecting human thought patterns and brainwaves. Is capable of telepathy.
