Located on the lower slope of Chimeria's mountain, the mining towns branching out around and inside it, representing one of the most prolific systems on which the society relies. Offering work to a large percentage of Chimeria's citizens, the mining towns focus on providing the highest quality supplies to their clients: the priority on the livelihood of nomad districts and checkpoint farms does not exclude the chance for independent sellers to benefit from their services.
From the wee hours of the morning to dusk, miners work intensely on the extraction of different kinds of materials in order to fulfill a wide variety of necessities: from the mining of raw minerals to the extraction of solid fuel or rich minerals and stones.
The mining towns are well-known for the attentive care of the details. Their more professional workers are well aware of the particular cures that every material required: after a gentle treatment of raw materials, these are promptly prepared for the delivery, while much longer is the treatment and processing of the richest ones.
Furthermore, the mining towns rely on an efficient system of couriers, which rapidly takes care of fast deliveries.
The hard work of miners is also crucial to another essential service provided by the mining towns: the merge researches centre. This department focused on the careful study of the materials extracted from Chimeria's Mountain in order to analyze the concrete avalanches of the island and extrapolate a pattern useful to prevent them.
New Howe
Located near the coastline of Chimeria, New Howe is relatively distant from the other mining towns, which, due to their proximity, constitute a more compact body. Furthermore, New Howe also significantly differentiates itself for its mining process. Indeed, because of its position, New Howe is specialised in deep-sea mining, which is a mineral retrieval process taking place on the ocean floor. Besides mining different resources (like silver, gold, cobalt or diamonds), in the deep seabed, other than inside Chimeria Mountain, it is possible to find remains of the merge.
Furthermore, remnants of Starlight Energy were found in the waters of the coastline. Therefore, samples of water are collected weekly: subsequently, they are promptly shipped to New Jarin, the mining town specialised on the research and study of Chimeria's soil and mountain.
Zwella
Located at the intersection that leads to the main mining towns, Zwella, although it is the smallest department, has an essential role in organising the towns. Indeed, due to its strategic position, it is responsible for monitoring the towns' entrance: whoever wants to enter, or exits, shall be subjected to checks that ensure everything is properly licensed and permitted. Inspections of this kind are made mostly because of the prolific and efficient couriers' system of Chimeria.
Moreover, Zwella is also in charge of small bureaucratic matters, as the compilation of general statistics or licenses and permissions. Indeed, along with New Jarin, is the only town with direct communication with Curchton, the towns where the heads of the concrete crew reside and work.
Curchton
Located on the west side of Chimeria Mountain, Curchton is considered the head department among all the mining towns. Indeed, it is not a coincidence that it is the concrete crew's monitoring centre: it is precisely from Curchton that the heads of the task force organise and check the concrete crew's work.
Furthermore, Curchton is specialised in mining Starlight Energy minerals, more specifically Starlight Crystals and Starlight Rocks, which represents the primary interest of the concrete crew. Since Starlight minerals are known to be extremely fragile to handle, the most experienced miners of Chimeria are the ones in charge of their mining: this does not preclude checking from members of the task force, which, instead, alongside the miners. Contrary, the vast majority of the towns are organised as more autonomous systems, where there are much less checking.
New Jarin
Positioned close to Curchton, almost constituting an extension of the latter, New Jarin is another significant mining town, especially dear to Chimerians. Indeed, in New Jarin, all the studies on the merge and Chimeria's soil are carried out with great dedication: the main focus of the research centre is, indeed, delineates the recurring pattern of Chimeria's avalanches intending to prevent and limit them. Besides, the research team's latest and main discoveries are reported weekly on the news channels: indeed, they constitute a topic of great interest for Chimerians.
Generally, New Jarin is in charge of all sorts of research: from Starlight Energy to common minerals components. Therefore, the mining conducted in New Jarin is focused on extracting analytical samples. Moreover, all unusual materials mined in the other towns are sent to New Jarin since it constitutes the only research centre of Chimeria.
Wrekfind
Located on the eastern branch of the mountain, Wrekfind is specialised in mining any sort of mineral and material of Chimeria, except for the Starlight Energy minerals exclusively processed by Curchton. Wrekfind is called "The mining town that never sleeps"; indeed, due to the massive variety of minerals of the mountain, mining is carried out also during the night. However, the work shifts are carefully organised: mining is a hard job; thus, each miner should have the right amount of work.
Furthermore, because of the mountain's richness, miners are divided into different units, each responsible for the mining of specific materials: one responsible for base metals, another one responsible for fossil fuels, then there is one responsible for diamonds and so on. Moreover, there are periodically chances for miners to change their unit if not satisfied with their role.
New Cavities
Positioned not too far from Wrekfind, New Cavities is a mining town that distinguished itself for its several tasks in the functioning of the mining towns' system. Nevertheless, the processing of the remains of the merge is, among the others, the main job of New Cavities. Indeed, although reusable, it is not unusual that the remains may need a good finish before being sold. Additionally, New Cavities is also in charge of the milling and finishing of stones and diamonds.
Along with the after-mentioned process, New Cavities is also responsible for giving support to Wrekfind, especially when are required more intense mining sessions, and for helping in the transport of materials to Trila, the mining town specialised in their shipment.
Trila
Located on the east side of Chimeria Mountain, Trila, like the other towns, is specialises in a specific work, constituting an extension of the greater whole that is the mining town complex. Materials and minerals of any sort, after they have been mined and polished, are moved to Trila; indeed, Trila is responsible for the essential role of shipping them. The town, counting on a talented corps of couriers, proposes an extraordinarily efficient service to Chimerians.
There are several and specific steps in the process of shipment. First thing, there is a meticulous inspection of what will be shipped: Trila's workers shall ensure that it is all in order; flaws are not covered. After a first inspection, there is also a second one made from a different corps of workers. Consequently, the materials are carefully packed and labelled with bar codes and identification numbers. Another unit is then in charge of delegating each package to a specif delivery truck.
Lastly, couriers are responsible for finalising the deliveries.
