The Socialist Party of America-Socialist Party

The Socialist Party of America often simply referred to as the Socialist Party was founded in the U.S. in 1901. The Socialist Party has three main branches that are allied, but have significant disagreements within the party. The Labor Socialists are the slightly larger branch and have been the main party for the duration of the Party's existence. The Labor Socialists have never had significant funding, but remain popular in certain pockets of the country. The Communist Branch of the Socialist Party is slightly smaller than the Labor Socialist and again does not have significant funding, but has limited appeal in a few communities. The National Socialists is the smallest branch and has only 2 major candidates from one area of the country(Portland, Oregon).   The Labor Socialist Party believes in universal Unionism, that all industries and fields need a union to collectively bargain and have each union associate with other unions to create a united Labor Union to organize and protect all workers. They also believe that these unions should receive a proportion of profits as well as direct influence on the direction of the company for whom they work.  The Communist Branch believes in the abolition of private property and that all work should be for the people without fiduciary elements. All production would be owned by the people and distributed according to need and all should work according to their ability.  The National Socialists are a hybrid of capitalism and socialist theory. They believe in private property, but believe in directed industry. Portland, Oregon is a hot bed for the group as they have created multiple successful businesses, including the Fyne Fyre Brewery(which makes Fyne Beer and Hard Fyre Cola) and Hussel Exercise Equipment. The National Socialists do have National influence because of their donations to teacher's unions and educational foundations. Oregon sends 2 Socialist senators and 3 Socialist Representatives almost every election since 1978.  The Socialist Party leadership is more divided then most. The Labor Socialist Branch is led by Senator Candace Wahle of Vermont and Representative Tyler Klainey of New York. The Communist Branch is led by Representative Bernie Sanders from Vermont. The National Socialist Branch is led by Senator Thomas Hussel from Oregon and Representative John Fyne from Oregon.
