Four Long Years Speech

The four long years speech was a speech given by King Nicholas II on July 31st, 1956. The address was given during the height of the Breakfast War, when multiple cities accross the provinces of Niccadia, Ontangees, Panders, and Katurian were invaded and occupied by the Breakfast Islands. most of the fighting occurred in Niccadia, with the capital of Wünenburg being occupied for 6 years of the war.

Purpose

To rally national spirit in preparation of a massive push by the Woodangian Army to retake captured cities.

Four Long Years Speech

Four long years, That's how long our nations has been divided. Four Long Years. Our lands ravaged, our cities stolen, our people enslaved. Four long years.
When the invaders arrived we thought ourselves untouchable, almost 100 years we had gone without war, 100 years of peace. It made us soft, complacent, weak. We were not prepared for the speed, the ferocity of their attack. Struck from both sides, we had no way to respond, no hope to stop it.
And here we are. Our boys dug deep into the mud, hiding in the jungle. Setting up traps and ambushes, lashing out against the enemy, in any way they can. Four long years.
They think us a beaten dog, a broken people, a dead nation. they claim that it is only a matter of time, our defeat is inevitable. We cling desperately to our islands, and soon we will have no choice but to capitulate, to finally accept foreign rule. They have been saying all this, for four, long, years.
Brothers and sisters, we are not beaten, we are not broken, and we are not dead! As I speak to you, our forces are launching offensives to retake several key cities. No longer will we be on the defensive, it is time for us to attack, to take back what was stolen from us. We will repel the invaders from our lands, and ensure they never return, even if it takes another four long years.
