The Miracle of Lebioda
General Summary
Session took place on 10-26-2024
(In game: July 25th through 29th)
The Witcher Bas seeks out help from the Church of Lebioda in Lan Exeter. There he is asked by the arch priest to perform an Act of Blind Faith which is intended to cleanse a chapel outside of the city using the Ritual of Blind Faith to re-consecrate the grounds after a terrible murder of the pastor. By successfully performing this ritual, the witcher would demonstrate his openness to the prophet and thus the success of a miracle would be high.
Zune, Wolfface, and Xeneva (along with Joris, the deacon sent to witness the event) accompany Bas. The chapel is enshrouded in an unnatural mist and the locals report strange sounds and screams that come from within the misty chapel in the dark of night.
As the sun sets, the ritual begins and the ghostly form of the murdered priest manifests. It seems to be enraged that the witcher would presume to turn to Lebioda for protection when his own life was taken in his service. The spirit finds that it cannot attack Witcher Bas directly, as if some divine intervention prevents it, and turns on his friends who are near by.. However, even this is thwarted as his spirit is tied to the immediate location and the party smartly retreats outside the area of the mists. The rest of the night is filled with the raging of the spirit as the witcher kneels in the chapel.
The ritual ends with the rising of the sun. The ghost disappears, and the mists depart. The party too departs.
The group arrives back in Lan Exeter. The arch priest, hearing the account from Joris, performs the ritual asking Lebioda for a miracle. The witcher's arm is restored!
