Branzenhold
Branzenhold sits at a transition point between fertile coastal plains and the rocky interior highlands of Nazair. Travelers rest here before attempting the steep and dangerous highland passes.
The surrounding reeds, mountain lichens, cinnabarite mines and tough-stemmed plants are used in rare natural dyes, particularly deep indigos and warm rust reds. Branzenhold’s textile dyes are prized by Clan Turi and their Lesti kin, who trade and perform in the area.
The Color Market in the square hosts monthly festivals where pigments are sold alongside performances and cloth.
The run down shrine to Lilvani can be seen from the southern road leading into the town. Though the shrine is in disrepair, Branzenhold is a place where the old ways linger. Locals still leave charms and offerings at the site.
Just apart from the town proper to the northwest is the Lady Maeren Darrak's estate. The estate hosts private salons and diplomatic feasts in place of a garrison presence. Nobles, merchant princes, and Nilfgaardian attaches pass through with surprising regularity.
To the southwest lies one of the cinnabarite mines that Nazair is known for. Many of the townsmen work the mine with the other men turning to agriculture as a living. The women dedicate their lives as homemakers, farmwives, dyers and weavers.
The Hollow Boar Tavern is found on the north edge of The Color Market. It is the only tavern in town and most of the townsfolks gather their when they have coin to spare or a particular entertainment act comes to town to grace it's small stage.
