Rawr Character in Witch World | World Anvil

Rawr

Appearance

Rawr is a Necrodragon, which means she looks like a normal small dragon most of the time, but under the light of the moon her skeletal nature reveals itself. Under most circumstances Rawr has a soft, purple, scaly hide, with a silver undebelly. Her wings are leathery purple tops and silver underneath. She has a long sinuous prehensile tail, which is tipped with an arrow shaped silver fin. Fat silver spines run in a ridge down her back, from the top of her head down to the fin on her tail. A pair of silvery horns sweep back from her head, one on each side, twisting slightly in a delicate curve.
When I undertook the Familiar Ritual I had no preconceptions in mind as to what kind of Familiar I might end up with. The Magic gives you what you need, not what you may think you want. I was quite surprised however when my call was answered by a Necrodragon, they are extrememly rare and I wasn't aware of another Witch who had one. When I asked her why she had chosen me, she said that I tasted right. I'm still not really sure what that means.

A Strange Habbit

Rawr has to taste everything, it is the only way she can tell the true nature of things, at least according to her. The first time she stuck her tongue into one of Tabitha's potions to taste it, she was scolded for ruining it. However, after several minutes of careful insistence that she had actually made it better, and that Tabitha should just taste it and see. Tabitha relented and did just that, she was surprised to find the potion, which should have tasted bitter with a hint of pond water, was actually quite sweet and fresh. After a bashful apology, and a promise of a toffee treat, Tabitha was duly forgiven. Rawr is now allowed to taste all of Tabitha's potions. And all her patients now comment on how much better her cure-alls taste than her predecessors.

Necrodragons

Unlike most Dragon species which exist today, Necrodragons are not evolved descendants of Dragons of old, but rather distant cousins of those ancient beings. Physically they look almost exactly like their ancient cousins, just on a much smaller scale. Necrodragons don't grow to more than a few feet in length from tip to tail. Under moonlight, all Necrodagons appear in their skeletal form.
