Setting the Scene of Windrule
Rules of the World
What are the fundamental differences in the natural laws of your world compared to Earth?1. Magic is real, as are monsters.
2. The magic grows weaker or dissapears completely when coming into contact with the phenomenon called the Gracious Wind
3. Not all people are capable of using magic, and not to the same degree
Cosmology
How did this world come to be?Nobody knows for sure, but both the Church of Three Prophets and the Old Church say that the world was created by someone they simply call God. Some cults believe that Chaos, aside from giving the world its magic, was also the one to create the world.
Geography
What does the geography of your world look like? The Old World has normal geography spanning from deserts to vast grasslands. The New World consists of water and countless islands of varying sizes and forms. Nothing too unusual by Earth's standards. Does your Geography have any special properties or features?
The world has two moons, orbiting it at a different speed. Also, it is still heavily debated, but some scholars claim the fact that all life blossoms in the places most open to the Gracious Wind.
Initial size of building
What is the initial size of your active campaign setting?I am mostly going to describe the New World, focusing on its largest island of Sol Meridia and lands around it. Also, I will describe the important places and organisations outside of that area, as well as the organisations in the Old World that have a strong effect on the New World.
People and their History
Who used to live in your active campaign space, and what’s their history? In the New World, there used to be countless tribes and countries formed by the native inhabitants of the islands. With settlers coming from the Old World, armed and eager to have the land for themselves, many of the native ethnicities are either forgotten or close to it. Which species/cultures live here now and what’s their history?
The Old World has five main ethnicities, collectively known as Ordonians in the New World. They all came to the continent of Ordonia at various times in history. With new, better ships invented, the settlers started to leave the Old World to search for new lands, and came to the New World. Some of them have mixed in together with the natives and adopted much of their culture, while the others want to see all lands for themselves. What do they need, and what do they need from each other?
The nations of the Old World have many poor citizens due to their high population, so they need more lands to settle and more gold to mine.
The New World natives, Vurradians, want to defend their lands and their people from constant invasions.
The people of Sol Meridia, seeing themselves as neither the Ordonians nor Vurradians, want to choose their own path and be free from the Kingdom of Eire currently rulling over them from far away in the Old World.
