Durinstown
Religious epicentre of Dontil, this large walled cityis the religious and military heart of Dontil. The city is split into four sections, at the centre behind 50 foot stone walls and towers topped with ballistae lies the stronghold of the city and main stay of the standing army a large keep surrounded by training grounds, barracks and research and development centres. Beyond the walls the city is split into four areas each walled off the the other with gates and barricades, 3 are dedicated to the main deities worshipped by the Dwarves. Thor, Kord and Freya. The forth area is a centre for homes and trade with a large market area and several shops. The Lawmaster runs the day to day of the city while the army ensure it's safety.
Demographics
85 percent Dwarven populace, 10 percent human and the rest is made up of elves, gnomes and halflings. Most other races avoid the city to to typically being made to feel unwelcome.
Government
The Lawmaster runs the town, while the military oversee's it's protection and ensures that the laws are followed. taxation is placed upon the merchants to ensure the upkeep of the temples (military funding comes from Craghammer) which can mean prices are very steep in this city.
Defences
Massive stone walls topped with ballistae. unknown to most the fortress in the centre of the cit also houses seige weaponry such as trebuchets and catapults.
Industry & Trade
trade doesnt count for much is this city, it's focus is training the army, it is heavily subsidised by Craghammer.
Infrastructure
There is a sewer system in place for the city which runs into an underground stream. fresh water is also taken from further up the stream to several wells through out the city.
Assets
Arms and Armour are the main stay of trade in this city.
Guilds and Factions
The merchants guild has a small taken influence here, but due to the high tax rate they try to avoid any large trade deals within the city limits.
The temples of Kord, Thor and Freya are well represented within their designated areas of the city.
History
In his Younger year Durin (the previous king) led an army south to the volcano where an ancient dragon resided, there the dragon was slain and Durinstown was built atop the corpse of the beast. in less than 100 years the small settlement had become a walled stronghold and stands as a reminder to any roaming dragons that Dontil is not a place for them to try and settle.
Geography
Built atop and around an ancient volcano it's whitestone walls are a contrast to the dark rock on which it stands. Surrounded by grassy plains it can be seen for miles around when approaching.
Natural Resources
The grassy plains serve wall as farmland, enough to feel the local population but little more.
