I asked one of the locals why no one left their homes at night. She responded, "Because the shadows will get you, and the light will shine on your bones."   --excerpt from The Magnificence of Dragons     The largest and most vicious of the dragons. The name comes from that fact they usually hunt at night; an uncommon trait for dragons. Many experts contribute their nocturnal hunting patterns to the fact that their black scales blend in well with the night sky.   These dragons are the largest of any species, reaching heights of 102 in (259 cm) and weighing close to (if not more than) 450 pounds (204 kg). Despite their large size, they are incredibly fast fliers.   They are famous for being the most violent and short-tempered dragon species. In the wild, they often pick fights with one another out of sheer boredom.   The Nightstalkers also have no set habitat. They have been found in desert climates, marshlands, and plains. The only area where they are not found in is cold climates.   Their large size and violent disposition means most humans prefer to use them as security. Their size makes it difficult for people to domesticate them.
