A man in the window

He was there again. His eyes followed me as I passed by. Just like they did every other day.
A man in the window.   I tried to not look at him. One day I made that mistake. I still can't forget that face. The jaw hanging ajar, the inhuman eyes. The teeth.
Why does he have so many teeth?   Apparently, he only looked at me. Even when I traveled with my friends, they told me his eyes follow me.
But no one dared to go there with me.   Today it will change.
I can't stand it anymore.   He watched as I got closer to his building. Didn't blink as I placed my hand on the doorknob. Still gazed as I left his field of view.   Going up that staircase was the hardest thing in my life. Every step, my legs wanted to give out under me. Even reaching the first floor left me covered in sweat and breathing heavily.
Additionally, there was this pain in my chest.   Reaching the second floor was even worse. At this point my throat clenched, making it hard to swallow.
I had to take a break every step.   Finally... the door on the third floor was before me. Raising the hand to the doorknob was grueling. Every fiber of my muscles refused to cooperate, only bringing more pain.
But I opened it.   And he was there.
Turned towards me and looking. Gazing. Watching.   It almost looked as if he smiled. Even despite his open mouth.
There wasn't any hostility in his eyes. Just a kind expression.   And then he blinked.   My corpse fell to the ground.
