The Emberfell Gambit

Prince Amris Emberfell decides to take the initiative and make his own arrangements to recover The Dragon Ring of Ascension from the Goldcrest Manse in Altdorf. He has decided to assume that the Wood-Elf Eilwyn is reliable and that Moli has a chance of recovering the ring.
He reasons that if he simply remains holed up in the Drakenhof hoping that he is not found and that the ring will simply be recovered without his intervention then he is leaving his fate in the hands of others with no guarantee of success or survival.
He has therefore resolved to take control of his own situation and has come up with a plan to recover the ring and make his escape.

The Plan For Recovering The Dragon Ring

1. Ehrmann Praunheim will deliver a note to the Elven Compound which deliberately reveals his location to the Goldcrests. The note is written in Elvish on the sheet of Goldcrest notepaper Moli stole from their meeting room in the Manse and reads. "The true heir will arrive and reside at the Drackenhof for this evening only before moving on to make an important alliance, take action now, I will make contact and reveal myself in due course for my reward. [signed] A Friend."
   
2. It is hoped that this note will cause his cousin Sullandiel Goldcrest to immediately dispatch most of the compound guards to the Drakenhof to arrest the Prince. Thus giving Moli almost risk-free access to the elven compound and the ring.
   
3. In the meantime, Prince Amris will meet again with Eilwyn at the Halfling Feast and follow her to his new hiding place. Thus evading capture at the Drakenhof.
   
4. If the ring is recovered by Moli she will hopefully inform Ehrmann who will be told where she is to deliver it.

As this plot is mostly taking place behind the scenes involving NPC's only most of it will be played out in secret and the outcomes recorded below.

Recovery of The Dragon Ring

Getting back the Dragon Ring of Ascension is a major quest objective which will further frustrate Alantha's plans and force him on to Plan C, if he can think of one. More importantly, it will secure Prince Amris the right of ascension to the Dragon Throne and give him access to the power needed to resist the Goldcrest ambitions, at least in Caledor.

Prince Amris has sent 'Prawn' his servant to deliver a note deliberately revealing his location at the Drakenhof Mansion in Altdorf. Quite what reaction that will get from his cousin the nephew of Alantha Goldcrest in the nearby elven compound is debatable. The hope is that he will dispatch all of his guards to the Drakenhof to arrest Prince Amris, thus giving Moli Brandysnap clear and easy access to the compound in order to recover the The Dragon Ring of Ascension.

It's not certain that Prawn knows how to contact Moli. They only spoke briefly at the gate and in the study and they weren't on very friendly terms. But he might be able to track her down. So, how Moli will know that the note has been delivered and the coast is clear remains a mystery.

Moli in the meantime is making her own plans to recover the ring based on the assumption that some or all of the elven guards will be missing from the compound.

Moli was successful and she not only managed to recover the Dragon ring but also stole the necklace of the God Senparre.

The Flight of The Dragon

However, once Prince Amris does have control of the Dragon Ring, Alantha will recognise him as a serious threat and almost certainly redouble his efforts to eliminate him and recover the ring.

To do this Alantha is trying use of magical trackers called 'Star Gazers'. These Sea Elf magic users are used to provide navigation and tracking skills to sea Elf fleets and can follow Ley-Lines and monitor the magical aura of people and objects that channel magic. As all elves, including Prince Amris, have a magical aura they can see where he is a bit like a blip on a radar screen. The best way to hide from them is to bury yourself in an area where there are a lot of other magic users, hence Eilwyns plan to move Prince Amris closer to the magic colleges where the aura's of all the human wizards might disguise his signature.

Eilwyn said she would return to the Drakenhof this evening when the halflings were there for their promised feast. Although it looks as though the plans to recover the ring are happening now rather than after dinner. So, not sure how that's going to pan-out at the minute. The Prince could find he has unwanted guests at the feast.

In the meantime, she is deliberately making her aura as visible as possible to distract attention away from yours.

Elsewhere Lord Illyruis is also trying to hamper the Star Gazers by corrupting the Ley-Lines and hiring magic-users to act as decoys. (Eilwyn being one of these.)

The added complication just discovered by Else and Ferdinand is that it seems that Alantha has secured some co-operation from the Imperial Court and as a result, human hunters are now on your trail and they cannot be distracted by magical means.

This plan proved successful and Eilwyn spirited Amris away from the Drakenhof just in time to a house on Westernstrasse owned by Councillor Oldenhaller. The house is close to The Amethyst College of Magic and the aetheric fog that surrounds the college is enough to disquise the magical aura of the Prince and prevent Alantha's star-gazers from detecting his whereabouts. As long as he stays close to the college they will not be able to track him.

D+60	Late Afternoon	"Sullandiel calls for the guard who was first given the note and questions him about the messenger. He is told it was delivered by 'A small thin man with red hair."" but that doesn't help much as he didn't say who the note was from or how it came to be written on Goldcrest notepaper."	Ehrman rows his wherry back to The Beloved of Manaan piers and carries on with his evening business rowing passengers back and forth to their entertainment.			Mi-Mi gathers the family and they all head for the Drakenhof and their feast.
D+70	Late Afternoon	"Frustrated by the guard's lack of information Sullandiel summons the resident 'Star-Gazer' and asks her to scry the note and determine its reliability. The 'Star-Gazer' reads the note carefully and performs her ritual of scrying finally confirming that the area of the city identified in the note is mostly occupied by the homes of the rich and titled of the Empire of Man and so there is very little to be seen by her skills. But there are three distinct aetheric aurae in the area	any one of which could be the elven prince."				Mi-Mi and the Brandysnap family arrive at the Drachenhof for their feast.
D+80	Late Afternoon	Sullandiel dispatches a messenger to the Bounty-Hunters Guild demanding that they send three of their best agents to him immediately with the intention of checking whether any of the 'Star-Gazers' emanations are his quarry.
D+90	Late Afternoon	Three bounty hunters arrive at the elven compound including Adolphus Muller the son of the now-dead Igor Muller. They are briefed on the locations of the aetheric aurae and dispatched to check if any of them are the elven prince and if so to arrest and bring them back to the elven compound. D+120	Late Afternoon	"Adolphus arrives at the Drakenhof but there is nobody there answering the description he was given. Instead	he finds a bunch of halflings having a party and a lot of puzzled servants.  Adolphus questions the servants and is told that there is an elven Lord staying at the mansion but on being shown to his room it is obviously deserted.  He ascertains that the house is owned by the von Drakenhof family and immediately recognises the name as being that of the girl his father is tracking down.   Back at the Goldcrest Manse Sullandiel is informed by the Star Gazer that the two of the aura's they reported earlier have merged and are moving northwards across the city.  He immediately orders the hunters recalled but it will take too long and being human they have no way of tracking a moving target." D+180	Early Evening	"By the time Adolphus gets the message to return and reports back to the elven compound the 'Star Gazers' have lost the signal from Eilwyn and Amris in the clutter of signals around the Celestial College and have no idea which is which. Adolphus reports that the signal he was sent to check was that of an Elven Lord staying at the Drakenhof Mansion	which is owned by the same family as the girl his father is chasing. Sullandiel basically has a temper tantrum at this point."	Work over for the day Ehrmann heads for the Broken Barrel	As the shadows lengthen in the streets of Altdorf Moli makes her way happily through the crowds heading back to the Sindelfingen District and the relative safety of the tenements. It was the end of a perfect day and even the daunting prospect of having to meet with Fat Matilda seemed a minor challenge compared to her recent exploits.	Eilwyn escorts Amris through the city careful to stay close to the colour colleges where their magical signals will be shrouded.	Aldophus is recalled by a Goldcrest Servant.
D+190	Early Evening	Sallandiel discovered the descration of the shrine and the theft of the ring and necklace. He flies into a rage and has to be restrained from sending guards into Altdorf to track down the theif.
D+215	Early Evening	Sallandiel demands to see the Elven Ambassador at the Ulthuan Embassy.			"Eilwyn	Waynn and Amris finally arrive at the Oldenhaller house in Westernstrasse "

D+300	Late Evening	"It takes almost an hour to arrange a meeting with the Imperial Chamberlain of the Seals. His initial reaction is to assure the elves that every step will be taken to retrieve their missing artifacts. However	he cannot sanction the use of elven warriors on the streets of the Imperial capital."	Waynn finds Ehrmann in the Broken Barrel and joins him whilst they wait for Moli to return.	Moli makes her way back across the Eastender Bridge over the Talabec River and then turns south down the wagonway to The Beloved of Manaan Dock where Praunheim had told her he kept his boat.	Shortly after Eilwyn has left Oldenhaller appears to meet with his new tenant. He is hopeful of arranging a lucrative trade deal with the elven merchant.	Eilwyn arrives at the Halfling Party and is told about the visit by the Bounty Hunter. Realising that the Goldcrests will now know where Amris was hiding and that he must still be close by. She decides to stay just in case the Goldcrests think she is Amris returned home but realises that two hours have passed and if they were going to send guards to search the Drackenhof they would have arrived ages ago. It seems unlikely that the ruse to draw off the guards has worked and she worries about Moli's safety.	Eilwyn arrives at the Halfling Party and is told about the visit by the Bounty Hunter. Realising that the Goldcrests will now know where Amris was hiding and that he must still be close by. She decides to stay just in case the Goldcrests think she is Amris returned home but realises that two hours have passed and if they were going to send guards to search the Drackenhof they would have arrived ages ago. D+360	Dusk	Eventually it is agreed that Imperial troops will be dispatched to escort one of Goldcrests 'Star-Gazers' who will lead them to the location of the missing items.	Waynn and Ehrmann begin to get worried about the failure of Moli to meet them they wonder if she has been caught.	"Moli hurries back to the tenement district and makes her way quickly up the stairs to the apartment she shares with her family bursting through the door breathless and excited to find the room empty.  She quickly knocks on the door of the small private bedroom her parents share	little more than a cupboard really and her current father Fartomeous answers scratching his head and looking sleepy."	Oldenhaller leaves.		Another hour passes and still there is no news. Eilwyn begins to think that Moli may have been captured. But she isn't sure what to do. She can hardly ask the elves if they happen to have captured a halfling thief this afternoon. Perhaps she should head back to the Oldenhaller House and see if Waynn has returned with her yet.	Waynn and Ehrmann begin to get worried about the failure of Moli to meet them they wonder if she has been caught.
D+370	Dusk	Sallandiel now fuming with impatience decides not to wait for the arrival of the Imperial Escort and instead sends the three Bounty Hunters to retrieve the ring and necklace from the location his 'Star Gazers' claim it now exists. Namely 'Fat Mathilda's Bakery'.	"Waynn suggests that he should go and ask Eilwyn what to do	whilst Ehrmann waits at The Broken Barrel in case Moli turns up. If Moli does turn up Waynn tells Ehrman where she needs to be taken in Westernstrasse."	Moli and her parents leave their apartment and head towards the Drakenhof to collect the rest of their family		Eilwyn decides to head back to the Oldenhaller House using the shrouded route they took either and see if Waynn and Moli have arrived safety. She bids farewell to the Brandysnaps and leaves the Drakenhof. D+380	Dusk	The three Bounty Hunters leave the Elven Compund and make their way across the Sigmar Bridge towards Far Mathilda's Bakery passing Moli and her parents coming the other way but with no reason to pay them any attention.	Waynn leaves the Broken Barrel and heads towards the Drakenhof. Ehrmann waits patiently in the hope that Moli appears whilst chatting with the other boatmen..	Moli and her parents cross the Sigmar Bridge passing the three bounty hunters without noticing them.			Eilwyn makes her way towards the Celestial College following the same path as she took with Amris earlier. She notices troops mustering on the Templeplatz but doesn’t take much notice.	Waynn leaves the Broken Barrel and heads towards the Drakenhof. He follows the wagon way along the river and is still some distance from the Sigmars Bridge and so doesn’t spot Moli ahead of him on the bridge.
D+400	Dusk	The Three Bounty Hunters arrive at Fat Mathilda's bakery and pound on the door. Waking her and her husband up. The Imperial Troops arrive at the Ulthuan Embassy ready to escort the Star Gazers in search of the Necklace and Ring.	Ehrman sits in The Broken Barrel cuddling his tankard and wondering if he will ever see Waynn or Moli again. He decides he will wait no more than two hours and then he really must go home and feed his children.	Moli and her pass the Ulthuan Embassy and witness the arrival of the Imperial Troops mustering on the Hexenstrasse. They avoid them and head for the Drakenhof interupting the party and organising the escape of the Brandysnap family from Altdorf.	Amris has been left all alone and decides to take the opportunity to meditate and clear his mind of all the trauma's and anxiety he has suffered over the past few days.	The Brandysnaps prepare to leave the Drakenhof. Moli hands Mi-Mi 15 GC to relocate the family safely in The Moot.	Eilwyn arrives at The Oldenhaller House to find neither Moli nor Waynn present and Amris.	Waynn Crossed the Sigmar Bridge heading for the Drakenhof where he hopes he will find Eilwyn and be told what to do.	Fat Mathilda is about to be arrested for possession of a stolen elven artifact. Will she dob Moli in to save herself?
D+415	Dusk	After forcing their way into the bakery and intimidating Fat Mathilda and her husband the Bounty Hunters recover the necklace and feeling very pleased with themselves they drag the two halflings and the necklace back towards the Goldcrest Manse.	Ehrmann is still in The Broken Barrel trying to make his beer last as long as possible.	The Brandysnaps are more or less ready to leave the Drakenhof. Moli is doping her best to chivvy them along. D+430	Night	The three bounty hunters together with Fat Mathilda and her husband reach the Sigmar Bridge heading for the Elven compound. At the same time the preparations for the Star Gazers search are completed and the Imperial Soldiers escort them north towards the bridge and the aura of the necklace..		The Brandysnaps have set off and bumped into Waynn who has just arrived at the Drakenhof looking for Eilwyn.
