Personal history

No one had expected King Dunstan to take the throne, given that he was the fifth in the line of succession, but as fate would have it, as well as the relentless campaigns in the north, Dunstan would be the only son of Aethal who lived a long life.
But unlike his father and his brother, Dunstan was not gifted as neither a warrior nor a commander, and so the kingdom quickly melted in his hands due to rebellions.  As throughout most of his reign, he was only able to hold on to the crown's lands, and that was only thanks to the castle built by Aethal. As even most of Aethal's men and his families were either murdered or went back south. 
But despite his failure to keep the north united, King Dunstan did try to improve the lives of the people within his lands, as well as the infrastructure of the city. However, he was never a beloved king, nor was he respected.
