Angreal are objects which allow those who can channel to draw more of the One Power than they normally could without harming themselves in the process.

There are two other types of Angreal other than the normal kind.
There are sa'angreal which are much more powerful versions of angreal.

Finally there are ter'angreal, which are angreal that are designed to fulfill a specific purpose in mind. Ter'angreal don't necessarily require the One Power to be activated, depending on the ter'angreal.
