How to be a demon lord

This is the diary and memoir of a, particularly powerful demon lord. They were taken by surprise when they acquired a dungeon core and were forced into a war that they did not understand. This book was a best-seller after the war, making the one who found it rich beyond any of the treasure or fame he gained from defeating the protagonist of the book. However, it is guessed by experts that parts of the original manuscript were embellished or outright changed to keep state secrets under wraps.

Purpose

This was the personal diary of a demon lord that in his own words "I am far from home and not sure I belong here. But this is where I am and hopefully where I can live in peace." This was the closest he ever got to talking about his past.

History

From 1550 to the early 2000's the appearance of dungeon cores shook the world. The mystery and power behind them largely made them an omen of destruction. This was the first solid information that was recovered about how and what they did.

Public Reaction

The public took this information with mixed reactions. Some thought it was an evil document for having the Demon Lord as the protagonist. But others took it as a guide for either taking down dungeons or finding and using dungeon cores.

Legacy

Of all the weapons and massive armies that went against demon lords for over 3 hundred years none where as effective as this book. It armed the common man with enough information to recognize dungeons and demon lords in their early stages. This spelled extinction for all demon lords everywhere.

How to be a demon lord

I found this book on one of the adventures' corpses today. Looks as if she will not need it anymore so I'll use it to disperse some of the loneliness. My name is not important because the only one that will ever read it is me. I am far from home and not sure I belong here. But this is where I am and hopefully where I can live in peace once I do as the orb asks. 
Day 25.
Today I finally repelled some invaders without having to fight them personally. My traps are getting more elaborate and my minions are becoming stronger. Soon I can live without worry.
Day 26.
Today I found out there are more of me.... and we meet every Thursday in a kind of subspace made by all our orbs (what I remember as Thursday) to discuss the ongoings of the world and the movements of dangerous enemies. One that everyone seemed to be worried about was the Sword Saint. But they didn't seem to happy to seem me either. They all gave me gifts. But it felt more like threats than actual gifts.
Day 33. 
Today I used a token? anyways an old skeleton appeared and I was super disappointed. I told it to go to the undead room I made. and he talked back!?!? Told me I was a snidely little man and that I should show respect for my elders! It seems like there is more to this guy than it seems. 
There are a total of 400 days. each one telling more and more information. after the raw diary, the hero who slew him gives facts about the demon lord and giving a layout of the final dungeon. explaining his powers and how he got them in short and concise terms. this is why the work is considered a guide. it even includes tips on how to take down a dungeon.
