Ultravisionary People's State of Thar Ladur

Part of the Codex of the Equilibric Age

The Ultravisionary People's State of Thar-Ladur is a nation in the situated the heart of the Tharochol Mountains, also called the Ashari Mountains. It borders Prabai on the north, Ashar to the south and the Xuldese tundra to the west. It's demography consist of 55% Ladurians (Ashar-Urunkharian Dwarves), 21% Abrazi (Western Dwarves), 9% Malgük-Prabaiians, 7% various Urunkharian migrants from the East Wall and the remaining 7% various other peoples, most notably humans from the tribes of Arrenezar and Ashar.

The nation functions as a centralised federation with syntecratic cultural traits, although its economic system is not syntecratic at all, but instead largely a central planning economy with some free market influences and rights. What makes it special is how Thar-Ladur is ruled. Thar-Ladur is one of the only countries that does not have a single head of state, but instead a executive council, this is less a political party, and more a board of top-experts of various fields. These councillors are chosen by neither the people nor themselves, but are automatically invited based on a mix of achievements in the specific trade and experience. So speaks the highest general for military matters, the best doctor on health matters and the most acclaimed or professor in the sciences on education.

The council is a culturally and scientifically hard-progressive leaning organ, with the rest of the nation following suit. The nation is overwhelmingly atheist (65%), although no explicit laws against religion exist, with the exception against certain extremist branches of both the Tsorgan and Gortorist faiths. Education is free, of high standard and manditory for everyone until they either have a degree in 3 languages, maths, sciences, chemistry, history and politics, or if they fulfill either community or military service for 5 years.
"Ode to Progress" a Thar Ladurian song written in 88AE. It is treated as the anthem of the Ladurian Space Department.
