The Arrival of Eden
The Garden of Eden, located in west-central Saskatchewan, Canada near Moose Jaw, appeared in the year 1942. The only warning of its coming was a loud booming sound that could be heard all the way across the world. A second boom was heard moments after the first, though this one was only hear throughout Saskatchewan, some of Alberta and some of Manitoba. At the same time, there was a flash in the sky that made the night as bright as day for a fully minute. Before the light faded, there was an earthquake.
The first person to report a sighting of what would be come to be known as the Garden of Eden, was a farmer. Their name is unknown, though we do have some of a transcript of a call they made shortly after this sighting.
~~~~~~~~~
WITNESS: Never seen anything like it. Fucking weird is what it is.
UNKNOWN: You think it has to do with that noise last night?
WITNESS: Pretty sure. Don't see what else it could be. You think it might have been aliens?
UNKNOWN: Can't see it being anything else. The plants are glowing, you said? What about your crops, are those alright?
WITNESS: Harvest will be a hell of a lot shorter this year, is all I'm saying about that. Look, can you get out here? I'm in the west field. You'll spot this shit from the fucking road, I'm sure of it.
UNKNOWN: I'll bring my truck.
The actual report wasn't made until half an hour after this call was made. The report was made to the RCMP, and soon afterward, the area was closed off from the public. The land was seized from the farmer, though they were compensated and offered land somewhere else. It had proven impossible to track them down, however, since public records of who had previously owned that land have been scrubbed. Locals are aware of who the witness was, but are reluctant to share this information with the general public. Those who have spoken out have given conflicting claims, typically attempting to position themselves as the witness. None of these claims have any proof behind them and should be taken with a grain of salt.
It took very little time for cults and fringe religious groups to spring up around the Garden of Eden. Sensing a tourisim oppertunity, the PC governemt opened the Garden to the public in 1985. This does not mean that the public were not able to enter the Garden previous to this, however. There had been a number instances of those with a religious investment in the Garden finding their way inside before this.
