Irene Sun (a.k.a. "Reen" (Larick))

Irene Sun is one of the junior members of the Army Reserve Guild but one of the most diligent ones. She's very popular in the guild, despite being at quests all the time, but not at all in the outside world. She wants to make sparks fly (literally) in the world and she won't back down against all the other mages who oppose her ideals.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Being athletic from a young age, she's known to be physically fit with lean muscles and a great build. Irene is tall for her age and gender. The average Southern woman is just 5'6" at the age of 19 and most only grow until 5'7" when they reach 21. Because of this, her height is her most notable trait.

Facial Features

Irene has a round face with a small forehead and slightly long cheekbones. She notably has onyx colored monolid eyes that are said to be intimidating at first glance. Her lips are thin and her nose is small with a sharp tip. Irene is known to blush easily whether through the cold or through the heat.

Physical quirks

Irene's dominant hand is her right hand. Her most noticeable physical quirk is how she blushes so easily and how she rubs her nose softly with the flat sides of her index finger and middle finger when she's thinking hard. She also flinches a lot due to the sometimes uncontrollable static in her body.

Special abilities

Unbeknownst to her, Irene Sun is actually has the power of Ex-solar Electricity meaning that she can manipulate electricity due to the protean solar activity which is why her abilities are very hard to control. Irene has only uncovered a third of what her ability truly is. She thinks that her electricity is simply solar-based but in reality, Irene's ability with electricity depends on the sun's current situation.
For example, whenever the sun ejects Solar Flares, just like how the radiation of the world's ionosphere is ionized, Irene's body would also be subject to static electricity. When she was a child, she couldn't control the static and felt that the static is harming her but after a while, she discovered the static simply hurts others more than her which is why she always distances herself whenever she feels static for "no reason." During combat, her electricity would be harder to control.
When the sun isn't bursting out solar flares or projecting dense solar winds, Irene wouldn't feel any static in her body and she may manipulate electricity just fine.

Irene's fighting style with her powers is centered around close proximity moves. She mostly uses the electricity to stun her opponents though she does her best not to overdo it. She could never do a large proximity attack at will; only when the solar flares and solar prominence happen but her abilities would be then hard to control.

Apparel & Accessories

Irene wears a lot of linen which are more fit for a sunny weather. When it's cold, she wears cotton but as much as possible, she avoids it. She wears a lot of blue and gray colors even from a young age. Blue is her favorite color.
When she graduated from the Training Corps and entered the Army Reserve Guild, she started wearing a blue leather chest piece over a gray linen dress shirt. She also wears light blue large-pleated pants. At her right side, in the pants' pocket, she keeps a flat crystal encased in wires. Irene would use her ability over electricity and produce sparks so that the small crystal could catch Irene's electricity and light up. She got this as a gift from her father when she was still in the Training Corps.

Specialized Equipment

From her trainee days, Irene was proficient in using knives instead of swords. Though she was content if she could just simply use her powers, training without magic is mandatory as some criminal mages have the power of magic absorption or negation though the two are prohibited in the South. She mostly used a knife in combat even after she graduated since her magic also has a limited scope and she cannot fire long projectiles. After the year 1599, she started using a knife that can absorb her electricity and channel it to the blade.

Irene prefers to wear light weight armor than the heavy gold or silver ones. Also, she knows that gold or silver or anything remotely metal doesn't go with her powers so she avoids them. In the year 1596, she wears a leather chest piece for protection. On the leather chest piece, a solar design is inscribed.

Personal history

Irene Sun was born in Pink Beach Village in 1578. Her biological parent is Hannah Sun but her two fathers (one is the brother of Hannah) adopted her since Hannah died from childbirth. Her fathers, Philip and Daniel, raised her in a small jynu house in the village. When she was young and naive, Daniel convinced her that babies come from the mail that the post services drop; nicknamed them "Special Mail Baby." She was 7 when she found out that the mail thing was a lie and when Philip explained that babies can't come from boys alone, implying that she has a biological mother. Irene still didn't get it then and only got it when they learned about it in school.

Both of her dads weren't mages so she wasn't exposed to magic much in the household. She only sees magic when it comes from an object they bought from the Mage Market a bit far away. Even when she was just 4, Irene loved seeing magic. She had a friend named Yvon who can create fire with her fingertips. Yvon told her stuff about magic but teased Irene that maybe she's not a mage. Irene was devastated and tried summoning fire as well, or maybe she thought that she can control the weather with her feelings but both things were proven to be false.

When she reached the age of 7, she started noticing that her two friends, and even Daniel, always shied away from holding her hand or her arm. She started feeling bad about it until Daniel told her that she accidentally gives off static electricity sometimes and it hurts when she accidentally does it. Irene was clueless but thought immediately that maybe this was her power. She was elated but then thought that she had bad luck since her abilities were scaring and hurting people; as if she needed one more reason for people to avoid her. Trying to control it, she spent some days seeing if she could control the static at will. She couldn't. The static would come every few days or maybe even weeks and it happens so quick that by the time she notices, it's gone again.

After turning 8, Irene went on a camping trip with both her fathers in the mountains near Equality City. On their way to the camping spot, she spotted a group of people who wore nothing but wooden head wears and braided clothes. She asked her fathers who they were and Philip said "social rejects." Irene didn't like the way he said it probably because of how similar it was to how the kids at school called her.
When she was 9, after a few mage kids at school bullied her for trying too hard to impress them with her electricity ability. Irene got so frustrated with her "magic" that she accidentally destroyed their solar powered lights. Philip theorized that her magic may have something to do with electricity. Electricity was not a popular scientific invention then but since Philip was a biologist, he knew about the electric currents in the human body. He told Irene to eat a lot of potassium or calcium since they had charges. It was also an excuse for Irene to eat more.
Finally, at the age of 12, Irene got the hang of her magic. She could manipulate electricity from the electric currents in her own body although she feels as if that's not all her magic could do or maybe she's just greedy about abilities. After gaining more control on her powers, Irene felt like she wanted to prove something to someone and being in a small town was a waste of time. Irene told her fathers that she wanted to join the army when she was 15. They allowed her mostly since Philip said that she resembled his sister so much that he couldn't really say 'no.'

The ambitious young mage joined the training corps of the Army under Commander Stanvey Bravery in the year 1593. The rigorous training had alarmed her especially since most of her life seemed calm (with the exception of being a bully victim) compared to it. Irene wrote to her fathers and sometimes to her old friend Yvon every month. She trained alongside Larick Silver, a 16 year old regular human boy. Though Larick was just a regular human with no supernatural abilities, Irene was in awe of him partly because he was determined to a fault, very supportive and more talented than some who have magic. She worked hard and graduated in the year 1595.
She and Larick quickly joined the Army Reserve Guild in Equality City and worked as a pair during most quests. Her father, Daniel, often visit her when he makes trades with the city.

Gender Identity

Irene doesn't really think much of how society perceives her; in fact, sometimes she doesn't really care. Others would describe her as being androgyne because she displays both feminine and masculine traits but she still would like to be called as 'she' when asked about it with Larick.

Irene is theorized as a bisexual meaning that they are attracted to both men and women.

Education

Irene started studying at Kids for Fun Kindergarten at the age of 5.
She started elementary at the age of 6 in Littlerock School. Her subjects were Math, History, Live Languages, P.E., and Science. It wasn't a magic school so their subjects were mostly objective to everyone. She started high school at the age of 12 also in Littlerock. Her subjects were Math, Economics, Heritage and Dead Languages. Irene didn't finish high school though since she left for the army at 15.

Employment

She is currently a Junior Army Reserve guild member and has been since she turned 18. She is one of the popular juniors since she contributes to a lot when it comes to quest taking. People often try their best to avoid her though since she's been considered to be intimidating.

Irene is a kinesthetic learner which means that she learns more by doing rather than simply perceiving it. This trait allows her to not believe in what she hears or what she sees but instead, in what she feels when she's in the situation itself.
Many people see Irene as all brawn and no brain but that's not all true. Though she does like to face things head on, she's neither naive nor addle-minded. She would avoid confrontation if she could but if someone challenges her ideals, she'll be stubborn but her sharp wit is also something to look out for.

The moral alignment will be used to describe this character's morality.   Irene's moral alignment is: Chaotic Good. Irene stands for good intentions rather than lawful acts because she believes that laws can change and she doesn't really trust authority and rules of society that much. She is motivated mostly because of the idea that everyone should be treated fairly and everyone should be given a chance to be like everyone else. Irene loves to do good for others, whomever they are, though she has a natural dislike of people in position of power and thinks they are corrupt.

Irene currently dreams to be a productive guild member in the Army Reserve guild and have the honor of being known and belonging with the guild. After awhile of seeing the problems within the South Continent through her many quests, she wants to do something about the increasing abuse of magic and overpopulation of the people.

Irene is very good at using knives and she is ironically, good at playing Lignus. She's not great, however, in doing mundane tasks such as folding laundry or sweeping the floor.

Irene is a bit envious of how people really like Larick but she doesn't see it as a negative type of envy, more of just her being in awe at him.

Irene once had a "pet" named Steev who was a little green beetle but it ran away when she left it so that she can play with Yvon.
Irene's hobbies include playing Lignus and giving riddles to Larick who loves them.

Irene is considered as a middle class person as she and her parents are living moderately with the essential things in life. After graduating at the top three in the Training Corps, she received a whole lot of trading goods enough to buy a small house in Ebullience street. She lives there now and has enough food, clothes and other necessities that she buys with the rewards she receives from her quests.
